2. Tobacco Tobacco is a plant that comes from America. There are more than 70 different types of tobacco: cigars, cigarettes, pipe tobacco Tobacco is used to help make medicines. The leaves of this plant can be ground into a very fine dust and smoked in cigarettes or chewed. 3. TOBACCO PLANTATION 4. TYPES OF TABACCO There are 4 basic varieties: "Blonde", "Black", Cigar" and Oriental. Blonde tobacco: It has a yellow-orange colour. It is mostly cultivated in Brazil, India, Zimbabwe, Turkey and the United States. Black tobacco: it is similar to the blonde tobacco, but it is thicker and darker . Oriental tobacco : it is the smallest and most robust of all the types of tobacco. It is cultivated in Turkey and in Middle East; in summer, when temperatures are high. Cigar : A cigar is a tightly-rolled bundle of dried and fermented tobacco. Cigar tobacco is grown in significant quantities in Brazil, Cameroon, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Indonesia, Mexico, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Canary Islands (Spain), Italy and the Eastern United States. 5. Nicotine is a drug found naturally in tobacco and is as addictive as heroin or cocaine. Thats why it is so hard to quit smoking. What happens when you quit smoking: Depression Feelings of frustration, impatience, and anger Anxiety Trouble concentrating Headaches Tiredness Increased appetite Weight gain Cough, dry mouth, sore throat, and nasal drip Chest tightness Slower heart rate 7. What happens in your body when you smoke? When you smoke, the first thing that happens is that a mix of gases is released around your eyes, nose and throat.
