fastest Paragon rider,although seventh-placedTom Richardson was notfar behind, stopping theclock on 23:58. AndrewHowell, of OswestryPeloton, took eighth placein 24:03.

Steering faultputs rally pairdown the orderin FinlandWELSHMEN Elfyn Evans and Craig Parrywere denied as they took part in lastweekend’s Neste Rally Finland.

In the WRC 2 category, the pair securedstage victories, but their hard work wentunrewarded as Evans suffered a failure thatleft him without power steering.

But after dropping to sixth place overall,the Welshman posted a string of highly-competitive times to climb back up tothird place and claim valuablechampionship points.

He said: “It’s been a challengingweekend. Some problems on Friday put uson the back foot and dropped us down tosixth. Third place was probably the best wecould have hoped for after that.

“We’ve had a clean rally with no mistakesand the speed has been really good inplaces, too. It’s a shame as the result couldhave been a lot better.”

Evans and his Four Crosses teammatenow look to Germany and the ADAC RallyeDeutschland in just over a week’s time.
