Coordinating Workforce Development for Northern Nevada
Nevadaworks works with employers and partners throughout Northern Nevada to align services, leverage resources, and promote a seamless and integrated service delivery model in the region through the One-Stop System. This ensures both employers and job seekers are served at a high level, creating the greatest community impact.
To this end, the mission of the One-Stop System and its partners is to support, advance, and expand the regional economy through a skilled and competitive workforce in Northern Nevada.
Nevadaworks’ total funding is comprised of federal funding from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA):

Nevadaworks budgets 85% of the funding for employment and training services in the community.
The remaining 15% is budgeted for Board operations.
In the current year, Nevadaworks has 13 contracts with 7 different organizations. Nevadaworks is currently ramping up a One-Stop Career Center in Northern Nevada with an estimated completion date of March 2018 .

Nevadaworks and its partners in the One-Stop System are preparing Nevadans for emerging industries by requiring occupational skills training be provided in the Governor’s Workforce Development Board established industry sectors.
