3. How does Jeremiah’s response to God’s call in verses 1:6 compare to Isaiah’s response in Isaiah 6:5, and Moses’ response in Exodus 4:10? How would you characterize God’s response to Jeremiah in verses 1:7-8? How do these verses give us comfort as to our own call by God?

1. One commentator views this chapter as “a kaleidoscope repeatedly twisting to display new patterns, new metaphors…” What are some of those patterns and metaphors?

2. Israel has been accused of changing their God. Why? What does it look like for God’s people in this day and age to “change their God”?

3. How would you describe evil? How does the world around us define evil? How does God define evil in this passage?
