A reminder to parents to notify the school about
your child’s health
We welcome information from parents about your
child's health, even if you are not requesting specific
support from our school. Our school asks for medical
information when you enrol your child. It is also
important that you let us know if your child’s health
care needs change or if a new health condition
develops.
Information about allergies, medical conditions such as
asthma and diabetes and other health care related
issues (including prior conditions such as medical
procedures in the last 12 months) should be provided
to the school by parents. Please provide this
information in writing to the Principal. This will greatly
assist our school in planning to support your child’s
health and wellbeing.
Please also remember to notify staff in the school
office of any changes to your contact details or to the
contact details of other people nominated as
emergency contacts. We appreciate your assistance in
this regard and assure you that any information you
provide the school will be stored securely and will only
be used or disclosed in order to support your son or
daughter’s health needs or as otherwise required by
law.
Principal’s Report
Swimming Carnival
Last Wednesday Wollondilly students walked to The
Goulburn Aquatic Centre to compete in the school
swimming carnival. Our students had a great day
participating in the various events at 25 or 50m
distances. Everyone put in a great effort with some
very notable performances. The children from
Wollondilly displayed great sportsmanship and were
very well behaved all day. Look for Mrs Sharwood’s
report later in the newsletter.
Road Safety
As you would be aware the roads around the school
are extremely busy for Wollondilly P.S. between
3:10pm and 4:50pm. We all have a duty of care for the
children leaving school in the afternoon and when
arriving in the morning. It has been noticed that there
have been some unsafe practices when leaving the
school precinct. Vehicles are attempting “U” turns on
double yellow lines in front of the school just below the
crest of the hill on Newton Street in the afternoons.
Please remember the ultimate safety of all children
leaving this area is paramount. Parents and carers
should continue on the same side of the road and drive
around the block. This is a small inconvenience
compared to the awful tragedy that could happen.
Girls Regional Cricket Trials
Next Sunday, Bella Greig and Meg Woodberry travel to
Barooga on the Murray River to compete at the State
trials for the Girls Cricket. The girls will play 8 games
(two each day) against other regions throughout
N.S.W. from Monday to Thursday.
This is selection trial for the N.S.W. State team which
will then compete at the National Carnival to be held in
Darwin later in the year. This is a fantastic effort and
we would like to wish the girls every success at these
trials. Well done!
School Banking
starts on Tuesday
4 March.

Anaphylaxis - Severe Allergic Reactions
We have children attending Wollondilly Public School
who suffer from severe allergic reactions to peanuts
and some other foods. This is a serious and
potentially life threatening situation.
We endeavour to make our school a NUT FREE
ZONE. We encourage all children not to bring any
food with a nut content. If your child accidentally
brings food with nuts the child needs to wash both
hands and face after eating.
Your co-operation is appreciated.
Wollondilly Swimming Carnival
Last Wednesday 12 February, Wollondilly P S held its annual
swimming carnival at the Goulburn Aquatic Centre.
Many children entered the 25 metre non competitive carnival,
which was very pleasing. The students from Goulburn High
School encouraged and assisted these beginning swimmers
and next year many of these students will be ready to tackle
the 50 m carnival.
The 50m carnival had many entries and almost all events
required two heats. The competition was excellent.
Congratulations to all those children who participated in this
part of the carnival.
The following children will represent Wollondilly at the District

Meet and Greet
Last evening the teachers P&C at Wollondilly enjoyed a great evening with our yearly “Meet and Greet.” This is
simply an opportunity to come and have a sausage sizzle and to say “Hi” to the teachers and members of the
P&C. This very informal evening has been running now for several years and is a lovely way to break the ice
especially with new parents to our school community. Thanks to Mr Bourke, Mr Hazelgrove, Mrs Baxter and Mrs
Woodberry for organising and setting up. Also to Mr Baxter, Mrs Armstrong and Mrs Baxter for cooking a great
BBQ.

ASK Association (Aussie Supporting Kids)
At Aussie Goulburn we believe every child should have the opportunity to participate and excel in the
things they love. That’s why we have started the A.S.K.-Aussie Supporting Kids Program. The ASK
program supports students who are unable to participate in educational or extracurricular due to financial
constraints. Every school has access to (SAP) School Assistance Program which contribute to items
such as uniforms and school excursions. The ASK Program doesn’t replace SAP, it simply contributes to
items that are not included in the program, such as: musical instruments; music tuition; sporting fees;
registration fees; sporting equipment.
How are funds raised?
When a parent, teacher, family member or friend of your school settles a home loan with Aussie
Goulburn a contribution of up to $100 will be made to the ASK fund. These funds are pooled across a
number of schools within the region.
How to apply?
1. Nominate: School to nominate a child for the ASK program.
2. Apply: Fill in an application form. These are available from the school office.
3. Submit: Submit the application form to the School Office, Teacher or Principal. They will forward the
application to the ASK committee.
4. Assessment: The ASK committee consists of five board members. There are 4 elected School
Principals and the Principal of Aussie Goulburn. A decision on if the ASK Program can assist and
contribute to part or all of the expense will be made within one month.
5. Payment: Upon approval from the ASK Program a payment by way of a cheque will be made payable
to the appropriate organisation.
