Welcome to Wensleydale’s fi rst boutique hotel, situated in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Heifer combines generous Yorkshire hospitality with beautifully appointed guest rooms and a unique dining experience.

Our restaurant...

At the Heifer we offer two alternative dining experiences, each offering our guests a different atmosphere but both with the same great service and fantastic food.

The restaurant is contemporary decadence, with its chocolate leather chairs, linen table cloths & Doug Hyde artwork, great for an evening out, or a special occasion.

The fi sh bar...The fi sh bar is a less formal area with wooden tables, rattan chairs & John Holt artwork, perfect for a relaxed dining experience.

Whisky loungeCome and enjoy our comfortable lounge with its roaring log fi re and soft leather furnishings. Perfect for after dinner drinks or morning coffee and a browse through the daily newspapers.

Outside dining area...Our garden restaurant is also available, when the weather’s fi ne you can come and enjoy the Heifer’s outside dining experience.

Our food...We have a dedicated team of six chefs who have trained in several different countrieswhich not only brings excitement into the kitchen but most importantly into the food!! Our philosophy is ‘Keep it Simple’, buy the best quality ingredients, cook them well and let the natural fl avours speak for themselves.p

Each dish on the weekly changing menu has been tried and tested using the fi nest seafood the British Isles has to offer and superb local meats and vegetables. We also offer a vegan, vegetarian & gluten free menu.

‘contemporary decadence’ of the main restaurant.

Be lulled into a false sense of ‘Leather armchair by the fi re.’ Enter the Fish Bar and you’llbe met with wall to wall seagrass and modish-naff touches. There is also a shiny, slightly more formal but still kitted out with joke crockery, dining room guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The welcome is warm and the food is sensational.
