Presiding at the meeting was Vice President Seth Leishman.

VP Seth seemed overly enthusiastic to call for a pin check at

the start of the meeting. If he was hoping this would cause

us to vote him out of office next election he’d be quite mis-

taken. We look forward to having him at the helm in ‘20-’21!

Pledge was led by John Peplowski

Thought for the day by Rebecca Sabaja

Greeter: Heather Thorpe

Set-up: Ken Holbrook and Don Daniels

Guests of Rotarians: Robert

Mirkin & Robert Wallace

Meeting Highlights:

Awards were presented to Lyman

Gilmore Students of the month.

Fines:

John Peplowski was congratulated and fined $40 for 40

years of marriage to his wife Carol.

Kelly Quinn was fined $50 for a vacation in Jamaica.

Keith Royal was fined $25 for all his

recent publicity and became a bell

ringer.

Tom Stanley was fined $30 for 30

years of sobriety. Good job Tom!

Speaker: Nancy Baglietto, Executive

Director of Hospitality House and for-

mer member of Grass Valley Rotary Club presented a pro-

gram on homelessness in Nevada County. Hospitality House

currently has 69 beds and has moved 120 people to perma-

nent housing in 2018. She told us about an application for a

grant to build a Resource Center on Old Tunnel Road in

Grass Valley. Approximately 18 months

Center should be open.
