Rotarians with their families visited Thailand which
helped them to bring Rotary families closer to each
other. It is time for us to get ready for the
on 30th November, coinciding with club
anniversary. Rtn. Prabhudeva is continuing the good
work started in various avenues of service. Well done
President. Let us continue the work and maintain the
tempo.

Governor's
Official Visit
When the trip for Bangkok and Pattaya was announced, I was over the
moon. Ask me why? Hearing stories about Bangkok being a shopper's
paradise and hearing Inner Wheel members talk about Bangkok in
animated excitement, the enthusiasm rubbed off on me as well. Of
course, I had to check out what my dear 'Google amma' suggested –
what to do, what to eat, what to shop….what not to do as well! Priding
myself on having enough info that could give a local Thai a run for his
money, I set out to pack. Oh wait, what should I be packing, isn't
Bangkok supposed to be a haven for shopping? Well, not the one to
take risks, I did pack some basic needs hoping to buy and wear
through the transit.
As the D-day finally arrived on October 9th, we sped tot the Bangalore
airport all excited. The gang of twenty eight was equally excited
though not all of them were first timers like us. We boarded the plane
with Dev, our local guide and landed at the Suvarnabhoomi Airport,
Bangkok before we could catch a few winks. Choe, a funny Thai guide
with a funny accent awaited us at the airport with his sister Joe. Being
a seasoned guide, he knew how to enthrall his guests and kept us
grinning all through the tour with his antics.
During our stay of 5 days , we visited Siracha Tiger Zoo, Nong Nooch (
Tropical Gardens), Coral Island, Siam Ocean World, Mini Siam, Safari
World, Marine Park, Wat Trimitr ( Golden Buddha Temple) and Indra
Mall.
All said and done, the trip offered a great opportunity to bond with the
fellow Rotarians and their families. President Prabhudeva ensured
that all of us had a good time. The in-house entertainers, Prathiba's
mother ensured spirituous mornings through her bhajans, Dr Girish
Navasundi family members ensured that we don't miss home-made
food through the snacks and chutni pudi, Rtn, Veeresh kept feeding
the hungry travelers with yummy snacks while Rtn. Ramnath kept
the adults and kids on toes through games. I would like to take this
opportunity to thank one and all for making this trip a memorable
experience.
