The cause for the research
Gas prices are on the rise and pollution causes climate change
Electric cars can solve this problem
Electric cars need an infrastructure
Are Latvians willing to pay a tax to build this infrastructure?
Goals
We are conducting a research to know:• If Latvians are willing to pay this tax•Which kind of infrastructure do we need• How much would this infrastructure cost•Which kind of tax would be most suitable
for this purpose
Research team
• We will gather a multidisciplinary team from various fields such as:
Team
Economics
Civil engineering
Mechanical engineering
Business managementIT
Law
Textile engineering
Steps of the research
• Investigate the legal environment to know if it is possible according to current laws• The comparison of infrastructures for electric cars• Physical viability of Latvenergo to create this
infrastructure• Economic viability of this project• Making a survey among Latvians to know if they are
willing to pay a tax and how much they are willing to pay• Research for the most suitable form to raise the money
for the project
Methodology
• Quantitative research (survey)• Qualitative research (analytic induction)•Mixed methods (content analysis)
