• FollowinginthefootstepsofthegreatAmericanpaintersbeforethem,agroupofyoungrealistartistswill traveltoParis,latesummerof2016. Theywill copyinmuseums,learn fromcuratorsandeducatorsinthefield,andpainttogetherastheystudypictorial compositionandhumanities,withthegoalofreaching thenextlevelofmasteryintheirwork.
• There isaneedforthisvoyage. Ithasbeennotedthatthere isalackoftrainingforadvancedgroupfigurecompositioninAmericanartschoolsandateliers.TheParisSeminarisintendedaddressthis. Thevalueofbeinginfrontofmasterworks,examining theirstrokes,andtakingnotesontheir successfulcompositionsfirsthandistheutmostofimportance forartiststoobservehowtheyputtheoryintopractice.
• SeanForester,aclassically trainedartistwhostudiedatCambridgeUniversityandtheFlorenceAcademyofArt,willbeleadingseminarsoncomposition.Alongwithhispartnerartist/writerVanessaRothewhowilllectureonhumanitiesaswellashelporganizethejourneyandtheexhibitions.
• A dozenartistshavebeeninvited,samplingfromschoolssuchastheFlorenceAcademyofArt,GrandCentralAcademy,CaliforniaInstituteofArt,GoldenGateAtelier,andLagunaCollegeofArtandDesign.Eachartisthasexhibited inmuseumsandtopfineartgalleries throughouttheUSandabroad.
• Fortheartiststoraisethenecessary funds,theParisSeminarwillbeholdingtwofineartexhibitions,oneattheSalmagundiClubinNewYorkCity,and theotherattheLagunaCollegeofArtandDesign inLagunaBeach,inApril2016. Attheseevents,TheParisSeminarartistsoffertheirwork,createdespeciallyfortheexhibitions,forsale individually,andwillpresentshortinformativelecturesaswellasexciting livepaintingdemonstrations.
