The Gyani who will recognize the Word Incarnate will not be
stopped, even by strong force.
I have understood the Incarnation as the Form of Sat Purush, an d
in my heart no other thoug ht has come.
T he N otm Essence manifested an d came into the world, an d have
seen and tested Him thoroughly.
Even so, I have one dou bt. Shower grace on m e so that it may go.
I was sent by the Com petent One, and when I came into the world,
Kal trapped me.
You call me th e Essence of Suk rit. Even so, th e terrifying Kal bit
me.
If this should happe n to the Incarnations, then all the souls of th e
world would
be
destroyed.
So , shower such grace, Remover of Pains, th at Kal Niranjan may
not deceive the Incarn ations.
I do n t kn ow anything else. Lo rd, my reputation is in Y our
hands.
Kabir said
Dharam Das, you have thought correctly. Your doubt is appro-
priate.

tively, know it.
In the Sa t Yuga Sat Purush called me a nd ordered me to g o into the
world.
When I came, I met Kal on the way. Aft er deba ting with him, I re-
moved his pride.
Th en he deceived me, a nd took three yugas fr om m e,
Then the unjust Kal told me,

Brother, I will not ask for the
fourth yuga.
Afte r I gave him my promise, I cam e into the world.
I didn't manifest my Path in the first three ages, because I gave
them to him.
W hen the fo urth age, the Kali Yuga came, again S at Puru sh sent me
into the world.
The butcher Kal stopped me on the way, and in many ways he
pleaded with me.
I
have told you that story an d the secret of the twelve pa ths before.
H e deceived me , an d told me only twelve-He did n't tell me an y
other thing.
In the first three ages he defeated me, an d in the Kali Yuga he set
many traps.
H e told me (that he has) created twelve paths-but he hid fo ur fr om
me.
W hen I m ade four G urus , he also sent his essences.
W hen I made f ou r helmsmen, D har am Rai increased his apparatus
of deception.
Sat Pur us h enlightened me to this.

Lok.
Deceiving, and creating fraud , H e deludes the world, an d H e makes
all free from m y path.
Making the souls hear the true N aam , H e sends them t o Sat Lo k.
Because He is determined to ruin the world, that is why

Obeying me, go in to the world, an d, in the nam e of K abir, establish
your paths.
T he souls of the world a re lost in the sweetness of pleasures-they
d o whatever

You create fo ur paths in the world a nd show them t o the people.
All four of you should bear the name Kabir, and don't speak any
word from your mouth except 'Kabir.'
W hen the souls com e to you in the name of Kabir, speak those
words w hich are pleasing to their minds.
In the Kali Yuga the souls d o not have any knowledge. Look ing at
others, they follow a path.
Hearing you r words they will be pleased, a nd again an d again they
will com e to you .
W hen they becom e firm in their faith in you, with n o differences in
their minds,
Throw your snare on them. Be careful D on 't let them know your
secret
In Ju m bu Island mak e your hom e where the nam e of Kabir is per-
vading.
W hen Kabir goes t o Bandh o G arh and accepts Dharam Das as His
Own,
H e will establish the Kingdom of Forty-two Incarnations an d then
His Kingdom will spread.
I
will sto p the souls by fou rteen Yamas, an d by twelve paths I will
deceive them.
Even so, have my doubts. Th at's why brothers, I am sending you.
Attack the Forty-two and trap them in your words. Then I will
know , brothers, th at you have obeyed me."
Hearing those words, the Messengers became very happy: 0
Mighty One, we have accepted your orders.
As you have ordered us, we take those words on our heads.

By your grace we have become fortunate." Folding their hands,
they answered like that.
Kabir said l o Dharam Das:
Hearing this, Kal became happy. He was overjoyed at what the
Messengers said.
H e explained m any other things to them . In this way, Kal the un just
showed them his path.
Giving them m any m antras t o devour the souls with, he told them,
"Brothe'rs, go into the world
All four of you go, taking four different forms, and don't spare
large or small.
Set the traps, b rothers, in such a way that my food will not go ou t of
my hands."
Hearing these words, they became very pleased: the words of Kal
seemed a flow of nectar.
So these are the four Messengers manifested in the world, an d they
will establish four paths.
Consider these Messengers as the heroes and the leaders of the
twelve paths.
The f o 6 paths established by them will be changed back an d fo rth
to explain things.
These fo ur paths a re the origin of the twelve paths, an d they will be
painful for the Wo rd Incarnate.
Hearing this Dharam Das became nervous and folding his hands
he made this request:
Listen. Lo rd, Now my do ub t has become stronger.
RUINTHEWORLD If all the souls are liberated, who will live in Kal s crea-
tion? These entities do not think of themselves as evil; in fact quite the
opposite: they have a holy mission, to literally save the world.

peated often enough and loudly enough, no one will notice that what is
being advocated has nothing to do with him.
WHICHAREPLEASING THEIRMINDS What they want to hear as opposed

rather than awakened.

But th e creator is Kal, w ho gives pain t o the souls, an d like him, this
Yam D oo t will attract th e souls.
Th ose w ho perform rites an d rituals will be called th e "Sat Purush"
by him , an d hiding Sat Pu ru sh , he will manifest his ow n self.
If the sou l himself is everything , then ho w cou ld it

Being controlled by the five elements the souls suffer-and still he
calls them equal to S at Purush ?
Th e Body of Sat Pu rus h is Imm ortal and Forever Young. H e has
many skills, an d H is Beauty bears n o shadow.
Still, this Doot of Yama will condemn Him, and will say that the
souls are Sat P urus h.
Then he will go to the ocean an d will see his own shadow . Seeing
himself as the Wordless, he will be deceived.
W ithout the mirror he will see his own form D ha ram Das, this
"Guru" is the uniquely reachable one
HYMN
Listen, D haram Da s. In this way the limitless mighty R am bh will
play the deception.
Singing the nam e "Kabir" he will trap many souls in this world .
Using the Sign of S ha bd a, you should awaken the Essence and the
Incarnations.
Using the Knowledge given by the Master, test the Shabd a and rec-
ognize It in your heart.

Dharam Das, be wary within yourself when Yamraj plays this

Doot
have explained t o you the story of R am bh, and now I will describe
the qualities of Kuram bh .
R A M B H OOT The path of R am bh Doot is that particular distortion of S ant
Mat which can be called "intellectual non-dualism." Th e M asters, in-
cluding Kabir, teach the basic unity of the universe and the ultimate
identification of t he liberated soul with G od ; Ram bh D oot is teaching
that the
bound
soul is one with G od [a nd hat there is no God other tha n
i t ) ,an d therefore need s no initiation, no M aster, etc. This teaching also
ignores the inne r planes and th e existence of the Negative P ower: these,
like initiation, e tc . , are seen as dualistic an d the refore inferior. Th e
result of this tea ching on its un for tun ate devo tee is the com poun ding of
the illusion: since he is already aw ak e, w hy sho uld he ma ke an y effort to
wake up? He lulls himself back to sleep with affirmations of his
awakenedness .

H e will keep people devoted to the sun a nd mo on, an d constantly
he will talk ab ou t the phases of t he m oo n.
H e will describe the five elements as the m ost im portan t thing, a n d
th e unwise soul will not unde rstand his decep tion.
H e will spread the pa th o f astrology, bringing the soul und er th e
co ntro l of th e visible planets. H e will ma ke th e souls forget the
Lord .
Giving out the knowledge of water and air, he will describe the
names of air .
He will present many interpretations of arti an d chauka, an d de-
ceiving the souls, he will mislead them.
W he n h e mak es so m eo ne his disciple h e will d o special things: h e
will read the lines of every single part of the bod y.
brothe r, h e will examine from head to foo t. Putti ng the souls in
the trap of Karma, he will mislead them.
After examining the souls, he will han g them o n a spear, an d after
hanging, he will eat them .
H e will mak e the souls sacrifice gold an d w omen as donations, a n d
in this way he will plunder t he souls.
Tying up the souls he will cause them t o g o back an d forth, an d in-
volving the m in their deeds, he will ma ke th em th e disciples o f
Yama.
There are eighty-five winds of Kal. Writing the names of these
winds o n th e betel leaves, he will ma ke t he souls eat the m .
Talking abou t the water an d the wind, he will spread the path, an d
in the na me of th e winds he will perform the arti .
Visualizing th e eighty-five winds, he will thoug htfully p erfo rm the
ar t i and chauka.

body, whether m ale or female.
F ro m head to foo t he will read all the lines. H e will examine the
"conch," "circle," an d the "oyster."
brother, such are the evil ways of Kal by which he will create
do ub t in the soul.
By creating doubts, Kal will devour the souls and will make their
condition very bad.
Listen to m ore ways of Kal. Whatever he speaks will be false.
By creating sixty divisions of time an d twelve mon ths he will create
illusion in the body.
H e will pretend t o give the simran of t he naa m which is full of five
nectars, essence of Sh abda , abod e of qualities.
Whatever has been m ade for the soul-Kal plans t o pu t his decep-
tion in that.
He will tell about the use of five elements, saying that this is the
path.
Five elements, twenty-five natures, three gunas, and fourteen
yam as will be called G od by him.
bro ther, this Ya m a has created the snare of five elements in which
he will tra p th e souls.
Being in the body, if o ne puts his attention o n the elements, where
will he g o after leaving the body?
W he re his desire is, there will he reside-as his at ten tio n is in th e
elements, he will go into th e elements.
H e will mak e on e leave the contemplation of Na am an d will keep
him trapped in the physical.
Dharam Das, what more can I say This Ku ram bh D oo t will d o
atrocious deeds.
Only th e soul who understands an d merges into me, will recognize
his deceptive nature.
All of the five elements are pa rt of Kal. Fo llowing them the jivas
perish.
unimportant for the salvation of the soul. This is the path of absorption
in physical phenomena, and is another classic distortion of Sant Mat.
Astrology, palmistry, dieting, physical healing-the emphasis is always
on the five elements at the expense of the soul. The individual may con-
sider that he is on the Path, but where is his attention? As his attention
is in the elements, he will go into the elements. He will make one leave
the contemplation of Naam and will keep him trapped in the physical.
This path also is often taught in the name of some Master.

Th e Messenger will call himself the servant o f t he L or d, and he will
have a son named G arpat.
Bo th father a nd son will be very painful. They will com e an d attack
your family.
H e will say, The Origin is with me. Dha ram Das , he will re-

Th e most blatant an d dan gerou s of the fo ur, this is the left-hand
path of Tantra in which the female organ is the philosopher 's stone an d
the attention is kept concentrated in th e lower chakras or ce nters of th e
body. Sensual experience is identified with mystical exp erience, and th e
sound that is hea rd- th e Jhang Naa m-is the sound coming from the
lower ch akra s and heard on the left side, thu s dragging the l istener
do w n rather than pull ing him up . Ritual use of flesh food , alcohol and
drugs ma y be o ther aspects of this pat h. As with o thers, there is truth
also here: Kabir himself wa s bor n in a low caste and criticized th e high
castes very thoroughly, for exam ple. But it is drown ed by the falsehood.

the conversation of G yani and S at Purush .
H e will say, Sat Purus h has given me the
root mantra

In this way this Kal will be mighty and will create doubts for the
Incarnations.
H e will m ake the In carn ations believe in his teachings and will im-
pose his teachings on them .
By his sign the Incarnations will be disturbed, even the p ure souls
will become of Kal's nature.
H e will talk abo ut the Jh an a Sh abd a, brother, and he will mak e
even the true souls forget.
As the body is created by the water, saying this he will impose his
path.
H e will say that the root-seed of the body is karm a, a nd he will keep
the Naam hidden.
First he will keep his mantra hidden. When the disciple becomes
firm-only the n will he speak it.
First he will explain the knowledge of the scriptures, an d later o n he
will m ake the souls firm in Kal.
He will say that the female organ is the philosopher's stone, and
asking for the disciple's permission, he will take her.
First he will speak the words of knowledge, then he will make the
disciples drink the root ma ntra.
That root is the mine of Hell. This crooked Yama has decided to
play this deception.
H e will explain the m eaning of the story of Jhanjhari Deep an d will
tell the disciples t o con template o n Jhang Naam.
He will call the Limitless Sound the place of the Negative Power,
an d will preach th e pa th of five elements.
H e will go in th e cave of five elements where he will d o different
things.
H e will brighten the five elements, and in the cave
Jhang
will soun d
very loudly.
When the soul of Sohang leaves the body, then tell me, how will
Jhang
protect it?
Kal has created the Jha njhari Deep, and Jhang and Hang are both
branches of Kal.
Th is un jus t Kal will call them imperishable, an d by calling them
imm ortal, he will deceive.

cover his secret their illusion will go .

ception giving u p the T ru th .
Kal will com e to destroy the Incarnat ion s an d in mater ial
deceptions he will snare the souls of Kal.
But the Incarnations will be awakened by my means and will
s top act ivi ty of the Root .

H e will deceive the souls, as withou t th e Knowledge, how can they
recognize him?
H e will say that in fro nt of the eyes is the shadow of the mind , an d
that abo ve the nose is the sky.
T h e souls will fall in the misty deception of Yama-a painter wh o
uses black an d white colors.
M om en t afte r mom en t he will be fickle an d will not be steady. The y
(th e souls) will try t o see this with the ou ter eyes.
Kal will show t he sha do w of t he mind , a nd will call this shadow th e
mea ns of liberation.
H e will m ake the souls leave the true Naa m so that the souls may g o
in th e mou th of Kal.
O D ha ram Das, I have explained t o you w hat Yam rai will d o .
All the four Messengers will create deep illusions, and in this way
they will steal the souls.

H e will break u p your family, a nd with his deceptio n, Kal will please
them.
In the family there will be many helmsm en. T he Essence of Nectar
will taste the poiso n.
Using the Moo and indh he will pollute the family.
Th e family will face on e great decept ion when H an g Do ot joins
the family a nd lives with them .
As Hang grows stronger, he will make the family members fight
am on g themselves.
Because of their nature, they will not leave Hang, and again and
again he will disturb them.
H e will kill his ow n essence-and afte r seeing this the disputing will
increase.
Kal will no t be able to see the fighting, s o he will find a way o ut f ro m
the family.
Your family will talk a bo ut m any experiences an d will criticize th e
Son of Nad .

Son of the Sound Cu rren t; spiritual son as opposed to th e Son
of Bind or physical son . Here refers to the gurumuhhs such a s
Chuda ma ni who w ill become Masters .
VIJAYDOOT The path of pleasant misdirection. Everything is gentle, en-
joyable and plausible, but the soul doesn't wake up: he sees only the
black an d w hit e of Kal instead of th e living color that is his her itage . T he
em phas is on love, mu sic, dancing, etc ., w he n divorced from its spiritual
roots , becomes counter-product ive.
W H E N
OU
L E A V EH E BODY It is a ma tter of historic re cord that on m an y
occasions when a Master has left the body his children or other family
members have claimed the Guruship and have often succeeded in at-
tracting attention a wa y from the genuine succe ssors. Your family will
talk abo ut ma ny e xperiences and w ill crit icize the son of N ad, is a pro-
phecy that has been fulfilled man y tim es. Dh ara m Da s is Kabir's Son of
N ad , his sp iritual son and suc cessor; even if Kabir's physical son K amal
shou ld raise the dead it alters nothing. Similarly, i t is Ch uda ma ni (i n he
fullest possible meaning D haram Das's spiritual or Nadi s on ) w ho is
Dharam Das's successor, and not his physical or Bindi son, Narayan.
The temptation on the part of the Master 's family members to equate
physical with spiritual relationship is enorm ous, a nd the willingness of
the disciples to make the sam e equation is aw esom e: even if th e M aster
states publicly on m an y occasions before a variety of w itnesses th at his
successor w ill not be a m em ber of his fam ily, it m ak es little difference .
Of c ourse , there have been instances wh en som eone has been both a
spiritual and physical son of his Mas ter, but su ch instances a re rare. Th e
tru th given here by Kabir is the no rm .

From the other lesser families, no one will be liberated without
getting the Sign.
Whe n on e unites with the Seed, it is called "family," an d tha t will
not come to fruition without the W ord.
The Competent One has given His Support to the Forty-two
Incarnations.
Fo r bo th the Incarnations and the Essences the Wo rd is the same.
T he Incarnations will be greater a nd the Essences lesser.
Through My Word, the Greatest Essence will awaken, and the
lesser Incarnations will follow him .
They will establish the path and show the way to the forgotten
souls.
They will establish th e pa th of Nad and Bind an d C hudam ani will
liberate the souls.
Dharam Das, your family will become ignorant, and will not
recognize the Signs of the Essences.

Shab da he cannot maintain the Path .
Dh aram Das, you are my Son of N ad. That's why I have given
you the String of Liberation.
In this way I'll liberate the Forty-two. Whenever th ey fall do w n, I'll

Looking a t the Seed who will not accept the W or d of Shabd a, Kal
will clutch h im.
The Incarnate who will believe in the Shabda will themselves be
liberated, an d will liberate many other souls.
brother, where is the Sh abda? Wh ere is the Seed? Withou t the
devotion to Naam, one cannot go to Sat Lok .

O ne should no t see anyone else as greater than the M aster, a n d he
should understand the Master as the Greatest of All.
H e should understand his Master as the best, a nd h e should under-
stand the teachings of his Master to be true .
Your Seed will fight like this: without the Master he will want to
cross the ocean of the world.
Being Guru-less, he will teach the world H e himself is dro wned ,
an d he will cause others to d row n.
Witho ut the G uru there is no liberation: Those wh o take th e Master
cross the ocean.
By force he will ma ke a relation with the Incarnations so Kal will
devour him.
W he n the world is stuck in relations an d families, then the Incarna -
tions m ay be deceived.
Th en Kal will come a nd devour the souls, and converting them into
ma ny different forms, he will bring the m back into th e world.
Th en My Nad will come an d call-looking at W h o m Kal will ru n
away at once.
That's why, Dharam Das,

T he Seed wh o will leave the support of the Incarn ation of N ad will
be trapped by Yama.
Th e M essenger will set up many traps, looking at which the souls
will be attracted.
Those who will not have love in their heart for the Incarnate of
N ad , will go into the m outh of Kal.
That is why I have explained to you about everything, and have
warned you.
Th e souls wh o know the Essence of N ad , a nd those wh o recognize
the Signs of the W ord Incarnate,
Those w ho recognize the true Shab da, Yama can not stop them
Dharam Das, I a m explaining this to you-Accept my words, listen-
ing attentively:
G o and tell the souls that the W ord Incarnate has com e to liberate
the w orld.
They should not leave the W ord Incarnate-which is Nad-and
they shou ld always have love for N ad .
They should not take sides in the quarrels between relations and
families. If they take sides, they will fall in suffering.
In many ways I have cautioned you. One who will be careful will
no t suffer.
In this way your Seed will go with N ad, looking a t which the Mes-
sengers will repent in their hearts.
In this way the Seed will become happy. The Messengers will not
affect the Seed who will be with Nad an d the W ord Incarnate.
Dharam Das arose and requested: Lo rd, now explain this to m e:
You have spoken of the importance of Nad so much , an d you have
mentioned the W ord Incarnate und er Him.
My Lo rd, tell me the reason why You created the W ord Incarnate.
If the Incarnate of Nad will awaken the world, then when is the
W ord Incarnate going to work?
Hearing these words the Satguru laughed and He explained it
thoroughly to Dharam Das:
Because Gargin didn 't accept the Nad and the W ord , tha t is why
I created the Seed.
"Bind" is a nam e an d is called "Bind" after meeting the Essence.
T he Word Incarnate is the Essence of Sat Purush. Reaching to H is
Abode , the soul will become free from this world.

Because without Nad, Bind will not develop, but without Bind,
Nad will liberate.
brother, in the Kali Yuga Kal is very difficult: in the form of
egoism he will devour everyone.
T h e unio n with N ad will hap pen after giving up egoism, whereas
Bind is full of egoism.
Th at is why Sat Purush has created this ancho r, and m ade Nad an d
Bind as two different forms.
Those who remember the form of Truth, giving up egoism, they
will become Han sas.
bro the r, whether on e is Nad o r Bind, the quality of egoism is no t
good for anybody.
Tho se who have ego, they will be drow ned in the ocean of th e world
and completely trapped in the snares of Kal.
W hen the quality of egoism will com e in th e Incarnate s, the differ-
ences will be created between Nad and Bind.
If the Incarnates are opposed, everyone, being controlled by Kal,
will follow his path.
Dharam Das said
Lo rd, hear m y request: With Y our grace the souls will be liberated.
You have made me understand the form of N ad an d Bind, a nd You
have told me the secret of their liberation.
All the souls will go to Your Lo k. T he n what will Narayan Da s do?
Because he is called my son in the world, tha t's why worry ab ou t
him comes to my m ind.
All the souls of t he ocean of world will cross, b ut Na ray an Das will
fall in th e mo uth of Kal?

use of these terms, which are slightly different aspects of the same thing.

THESATGURUAUGHEDWell he might. This is an incredibly dense passage.
The idea is that while the Word is all powerful it has to manifest in a
human body before Kal can be defeated and souls can be liberated.
WITHOUTIND The power of liberation is in Nad, not Bind, and under cer-
tain circumstances (e.g.an initiated disciple who has left the body) the
liberating work of Nad can proceed without reference to Bind.

You have started erasing the orders of Sat Purush . W he n o ne for-
gets the Knowledge, attachment and illusion awaken.
W hen the darkness of at tachm ent dominates the heart , one forgets
the K nowledge a n d leaves his wo rk.
W ithou t faith, devotion cannot be done; an d without devotion n o
soul can cross.
Again you have been caught in the trap o f Kal. T ha t is why attach-
me nt fo r you r son has been awakened in your heart .
Even tho ugh you saw s o clearly that N arayan Da s is und er the con-
trol of Kal-
Still you have become s tub bo rn and you have no t understoo d even
on e word of mine.
D ha ram Das, wh at you just said to me-you didn't think ab ou t
it in your heart.
You do n' t believe in me. Ha ve faith in the Master-why d o you
have faith in the wo rld?
If on e meets the Ma ster, giving up everything of his ow n, tha t fo rtu-
nate o ne climbs the stairs of Tru th.
If on e catches at tachm ent , illusion awakens, an d that u nfortu nate
on e gives u p all devotion an d knowledge.
You are the Essence of S at Purush. You have come into the world
to tak e o n the work of awakening the souls.
If you yourself give u p faith in the M aster an d, looking a t the things
in the world, you get attached t o them ,
Th en where is the place fo r the souls? Th is shows clearly, Dh ara m
Da s, yo ur family will also d o the same.
Th ey will always bu rn in the fire of attac hm ent a n d it will create
differences in th e family.
T o say, "Without the son the name cann ot continue," an d, "With-

ou t the wife there can be n o hom e," all these-like pride of
family-are the tricks of Kal.
In this all members of the family will forget, and will not get the
Pa th of the true Na am .
Looking at others, the souls will be trapped in these things-and
the Messengers will be happy looking a t this.
Th en the Messengers will become mighty, and grabbing the souls
they will send them into hell.
W hen the souls are caught in the snare of Kal, they will forget them-
selves in lust, attachment, greed and egoism.
They will not have faith in the Guru, and hearing the true Naam
they will burn.
Listen to the signs of those who will have Sat Naam within them:
They will not be affected by Kal, and will not have lust, anger,
egoism and greed in them.
Giving up attachment a nd desires, they will always keep the Word s
of the Satguru in their heart.
As the snake keeps the jewel on his head, in the same way the
disciple should always keep the Master's orde rs on his head .
Forgetting "son" an d "woman," an d giving up pleasures, the soul
who touches the Feet of S at Puru sh becomes the Han sa.
Dharam Das, only a brave one can constantly obey the peace-
giving W ords of th e Master.
Such a soul goes to Sat Lok an d for him, liberation is not far.
COUPLET
Giving up the complication of karm a an d illusions, love the Feet of
the M aster.
Having firm faith in the Shabda of the Gurumukh, understand
the body as ashes.
Hearing these words Dharam Das was ashamed and in hki mind he
fully repented.
Running he fell at the Feet of Satguru andsaid:
Lo rd , help me. I
am the ignorant one
Swam i, forgive my mistake Accept this request, All-Conscious
One.
I am the ignorant o ne who ignored Your Words , an d m ade requests
again and again.

Dh aram Das, you are the blessed one to recognize me, a nd , obeying
my words, t o renounce your son.
W hen the m irror o f the he art of the disciple is polished, only then
can the fo rm of the Master be seen.
Only when the disciple keeps the form of the Master in his heart,
does he destroy all the branches of Kal.
As long as one has cunning desires, that servant will not see the
Master.
When the disciple devotes himself to the Feet of the Master with
one-pointed attention, he is released from attachment and
knowledge awakens.
When the Lamp of Knowledge comes in the heart, It destroys all
attachm ents an d illusions.
When he comes again to the Satguru, it is as the drop dissolving
itself in the ocean.

Without faith the soul will not cross, and without having faith in
the Master, the soul will accept Kal.
brother, there is no Giver like the M aster. Th at is why you should
keep your heart absorbed at the Feet of the Master.
HYMN
Th ere is no other Giver in the world. Understand the Master as the
Giver of Liberation.
Making one free from his low w ays, Master explains the Knowledge:
Making the souls firm in devotion, H e brings them in to the La p of
Naam.
OUPLET
O ne w ho doesn t understand any difference between the Master
and Sat Purush,
He gets Perfect Recognition, and for him the sufferings of Kal
finish.
D ha ram Das, see the qualities of the Satguru-how firmly H e
believes an d has faith.
Consider the soul involved in rites and rituals-how firmly he
continues in his faith.
H e brings the mud by himself, and he himself makes the idol of the
Creator.
H e offers rice and flowers to it. W ith love an d faith he contem plates
o n it with his mind.
Th en , understanding it as the Creato r, he worships it an d doesn t let
his faith break.
As there is love in the decep tion, the same love becomes alive fo r
him.
These souls who have love for the Master as this man has for his
idol are priceless, an d they become the Beloved H an sa of the
Lord.
Lo ok a t the love of those idol-worshipers-how firmly they are
entangled in deception.
I
myself have told you the Naam of the Guru, and have told you
there is n o difference between G uru and Sa t Pu rush .
S o the souls will remain under the contro l of Kal, and they will not
have faith in the Master.
W hen one doesn t have faith in the Master s Body, by focusing
his atten tion in th e void, he will deceive himself.
Those who firmly rely on the Master, their liberation cannot be
postponed.

Those who have such firm faith tha t they do n t leave the Master o r
put their attention in any other place-
This way of living of the soul is precious, an d such a soul dyes his
body in the color of Love.
Lovingly unde rstand th at the Word of Master is the Nectar, drink-
ing which the bad intellect goes away.
Dharam Das, considering all this in your hea rt, be firm in your
faith in the Master.
HYMN
In this way, having firm faith in the Feet of the M aster, love H im
constantly.
Lighting the La m p of the M aster s Knowledge in the heart, remove
the darkness of attachments.
By the glory of the dust of Master s feet, the sins will certainly go
away.
There is no other way of getting liberation except by faithfully
merging into the S hab da.

This world is very deep. Accept the Naam with love an d determina-

By the Grace and S upp ort of the Master, one gets the W ord of the

The Satguru said you who keep the Guru s words, the M aster
is the support in Nirgun and Sargun.
No dealing can be done without the Guru. Without the Guru the
ocean of the world could not be crossed.
Understand the disciple as the oyster shell, and the Guru as the
Seed of the pearl; the G uru as the Philosopher s Stone an d the
disciple as iron ;

ND SARGUN Without qualities and with qualities; in creation and
out of it Under all conceivable or inconceivable circumstances the
Master is there

T he G uru as M alay M ountain; and the disciple as the snake-by
touching th e Master the body becomes cool.
The Master is the Ocean and the disciple is Its wave; the Master is
the L am p and the disciple the m oth.
Understand the disciple as the moonbird, and the Master as the
Moon; the Feet of the Master are the Sun and the disciple is
that lotus which blooms.
If the disciple is determined in this kind of love, and if he keeps the
darsh an of the Master's Feet in his hea rt,
W he n the disciple remembers the M aster like this, understa nd tha t
disciple as equal t o the M aster.
Think about the difference between one guru and another, as all
the world is calling, guru , guru .
He is the Guru Who manifests the Shabda in the souls by the
strength of Which the souls go H om e.
The re is no lacking in such a G uru . Th e P at h of such a G uru and th e
disciple is the same.
H Y M N
All the world is entangled in different kinds of thou gh ts, deeds an d
emotions.
T he soul has fallen in the snare of illusion an d doesn't know how to
go back to the Real Hom e.
There are many gurus in the world and they have made artificial
snares.
W ithou t the Satguru the illusion will not be finished as th e terrible
Kal is very mighty.
OUPLET
I sacrifice myself on the Satgu ru, W ho gives the Im m ortal Message.
Meeting Him , the souls become unique an d m eet Sat Pu rush .
Day and night one should attach his attention to the Master, and
should dwell within himself like the Sadhus and Saints.
H e on whom the Satguru showers grace, his noose of karm a burns
away.
If one makes an effort and withdraws his attention, the Satguru
makes him reach Sat L ok.
Th e Satguru cuts away the tra p of on e who, after doing the seva,
has n o desire.
One who keeps his attention at the Feet of the Master goes to the
Plane of Immortality.

N o matter if one becomes a yogi and practices yoga-without the
Master he will no t cross the ocean of the world.
The disciple who obeys the order of the M aster, with the Master s
grace crosses the ocean of the world.
The soul who is the devotee of the Guru , for him there is no differ-
ence between the Sadh us an d the Master.
On e who doesn t see any difference between th e S adhu s and the
Gu ru, understand Him as the True Guru.
The worldly people will not understand the Guru s, disciple s, an d
Sadhu s way of living.
Understand those people as the ones who are in the trap of Kal;
such Messengers are the essence of Kal.
Dharam Das, these are their signs: The loss of souls will happen
because of them.
On e who know s the Way of Love of the Master, will recognize the
Pa th of the true Shabda.
The Masters make the souls firm in the devotion of S at Purush, an d
by making them practice hearing and seeing, they make them
go Home.
Giving up cleverness and foolishness, if one loves Them with all his
heart, then without doubt he reaches the Real Home.
After crossing the ocean of the world, he doesn t com e back.
Sat Naam is the Precious Nectar. One who gets this Unchanging
Nectar,
Giving up the qualities of the crow, he accepts the qualities of
Hansa, and always keeps his attention at the Feet of the
Master.
There are many o ther bad paths which he will not bring in his mind.
One who always has love for the Feet of the Master, and for the
good Pa th , Dh aram Das, such a soul will go to Sat Lo k.
COUPLET
Giving up the snares of karmas and illusions, love the Feet of the
Master.
Understand your body as ashes, having faith in the words of the
Gurumukh.

He will not draw a distinction between what
ever past Master he honors and worships and the present day em
bodiments of the same Power.

Epilogue
Dharam Das became very happy in his heart. The tears came out of
his heart and overwhelmed he spoke these words:
In my heart was darkness, which you removed by the Lamp of
Grace.
Then controlling himselfhesaid: 0 G od , how could I praise You?
Now, Master, listen to my request: Tell me how to discriminate
am ong the souls.
Which souls should I initiate? 0 Co mp etent O ne , tell me this, giv-
ing their signs.
SIGNS OF TH E JIVAS DESTINED FOR NA AM
The Satguru said:
0 Dh aram Das, do n't worry. Give the Message of Liberation t o the
souls.
Those whom you find to be humble and devoted, tell them ab ou t
the Devotion of Liberation.
Dharam Das, give Naam Initiation to him who has mercy, conti-
nence, a nd forgiveness within him.
Tell him the M essage of Sat Purush : to remain firm in the contem-
plation of N aam day and night.
On e on w hom the grace is not showered, and who doesn't believe
in Shabda, goes in the direction of Kal.
The true S habd a will not reside in o ne with wavering vision.
Know tha t the M essenger himself has com e t o reside in on e whose
chin is jutting out.

Lo rd, you have mad e my birth successful. Making m e free from
Yam a, You have made me Your own.
Even if one had a thousand tongues in his mouth, then also Your
qualities could no t be described.
Lord, I a m very fortunate. W h o else is as fortun ate as I am ?
Only that jiva in whose heart Your Naam resides is the fortunate
one.
Now listen to my one request, and tell me the description of this
body.
Which god lives where and wh at work does he do?
H ow many veins are there, an d how much blood an d hair? A nd by
which routes d o the breaths flow?

Above the mool lotus is the akhara and there is the lotus of six

is the eight-petaled lotus; Vishnu and Lakshmi are the

Going there one gets the proof of six thousand

Above it is the twelve-petaled lotus, and in that lotus Shiva and
Parvati reside.
In there the six thousand a-japas happen-witness this by the
knowledge of the M aster.
The jiva lives in the lotus of sixteen petals, where one thousand
a-japas happen.
Its place is between the two eyebrow s where the ab od e of King Mind

W hen the Sh ab da emanates, o ne enters the Void a nd merges within
it.
T h e intestine is of twenty-one han ds, an d the stom ach is approxi-

Solar plexus is of o ne an d o n e qua rter ar m lengths; o ne goes in the
cave through the openings.

Withdrawing the air f rom the body, the sadhu takes the path of the

Its secret, recognize the mind.
Receiving the message of Sat Pur ush, the mind becomes jealous a nd
takes the jiva in his direction.

and accept the Feet.
In this body no one else lives. Mind and soul alone live in this house.
The mind is stuck in five, twenty-five, and three-all these ar e
slaves of N iran jan.
When the Essence of Sat Puru sh comes in the jiva, he remembers
the sign of his Real Home.
These slaves have surrounded the jiva. Unless he recognizes them,
the jiva also becomes the slave of Y am a.
As a parrot caught in a cage, being in the control of illusion, the
jiva doesn t know himself.
As the lion, seeing his reflection in the water understand s it as an-
other,
Jum ping into the water, he loses his life-In the same way the soul is
deceived and doesn t recognize himself.
As the dogs, barking in a palace of mirrors, understand their re-
flection as other dogs,
brother, when they hear the echo, they again start barking-
In this way Yama has created deceptions fo r the souls. W hen Kal
devours them-then they repent.
Because they do n t love the Shabda of the S atgu ru, they ar e de-
stroyed.
The fake Naam is a branch of Niranjan and the Original N aam is of
the Satguru.
The jivas do not love the Feet of Satguru; but they can go back
Hom e only after meeting the Satguru.
Dh aram Das, the jivas have become of others, and thinking tha t
it is nec tar, they a re entangled in poison.
Dharam Rai has created such varieties that, being controlled by
deception, the souls have forgotten.
Listen to the spread of karm as created by the mind. A jiva will be-
come The Unique One after recognizing this evil.

Mind takes him there by its strength, and the knowledgeless jiva

M aking him involved in sexual pleasures with wo ma n, the jiva takes

Lo okin g at others' wealth, mind becom es happ y: "I'll take it "-
an d thus desire comes.
W hen he takes others' wealth, the soul is blamed for that sin.
This crazy mind develops this k arm a a n d th e innocent sou l obeys its
orders.
Criticism of o thers and taking their wealth are traps of th e mind.
Becoming hostile to the Sa int a n d criticizing the Master-these are
the ka rma s created by th e mind which p uts the soul in the tra p
of Kal.
Being a married man, he desires another woman: In this way the
mind sows the poison o f deep karm a.
Mind makes the soul, in a n excited state, kill others. H e makes the
sou l suf fer hell because of th at sin.
Deceiving the souls, the mind makes th em serve god s an d goddesses
in pilgrimages and fasts.
The mind itself introduces bad habits, and involving the jiva in
the m , h e spoils it.

Even in the Vedas and Shastras the importance of worshiping the
soul and meeting the Saints has been w ritten.
One should do the devotion of the Saints as the Master, and control
the qualities of attachment and anger.
Th e Sat Naam of Sat Purush is the Tree of Nectar, a nd by keeping
the Company of S at Purush s Friend one goes to the Immov-
able Plane;
All these are the strings to get to Sat Purush. Accepting the true
Naam , one goes to Sat Lok .
Th e blind one cannot go to his hom e. These are the signs of th e
Path.
The Naam of the Sat Purush is the Eyes and Authority, taking
which, the soul goes to its Hom e.
One s birth and death finish if, by having firm faith, one accepts the
Feet of the Master.

pointed attention, he attaches himself t o the Sh ab da of Gu ru .
H e throws aw ay all anger and fraud, an d going in the Ganges of
Forgiveness, he bathe s there.
H e is the abod e of joy an d meditation, a nd the ocean of happiness,
love an d coolness. H e never tests whether on e is a king o r a
subject.
By doing the meditation of the Unrepeated, he removes the pre-
vious veils;
O n e w ho remains unaffected an d never flows into passions-such a
renunciate gets me.
Meeting m e, h e becomes like me an d remov es all duality.
H e remains absorb ed a t the Feet of t he Ma ster, giving u p all illu-
sion, fraud and cleverness.
O n e w ho always remains in the Ord ers of the Master-Evil Kal will
not get him.
H e keeps firm faith in the Master, an d understands him as me.
H e gets all fruit by serving the M aster. If on e becomes antagonistic
to th e Ma ster, he will not cross.
As the lily loves th e moon-in the same way the disciple shou ld
have faith in the M aster.
T h e renunciate shou ld live like this. O nly he is a lover wh o loves the

W hen o ne gets the Sa tguru as his Ferrym an, he crosses the ocean of

TH E CONSEQUENCES O F CARELESSNESS
As long as the soul remains in the body, bro the r, practice the
Path of Shabda.
Just as the brave one remains in the battlefield-if he runs, he is
defamed.
Th e Precious Shabda of the Master is the battlefield, and Kal gets
those who waver from it.
The soul who goes away from the Master never survives. Falling in
the firepit, he will be burned.
brother, he gets many sufferings. Birth after birth he goes into
Hell.
He gets millions of births as a snake, and in bearing the fire of
poison , he loses each birth.
H e is born in the dirt in the body of the worm, and fo r many births
he remains in hell.
H ow mu ch should say abou t the pains which such souls get?
Accept the Shabda of the Gurumukh and be firm in it.
If the Master is gracious, Sat Purush is also gracious. Kal cannot
even touch those who remain firm in the Master.
Fo r the sake of the souls I say, "Those who a re the devotees of the
Guru-they don't lose "

knowingly, deliberately, definitely and finally rejects the opportunity
for liberation is also rejecting human birth, and goes back into the

m ath em atic s will sho w the logic of st atem ent s like this: most fo rm s of
life are a lot closer to snakes and w orm s than th ey a re to hum an s. "Hell"
may be an y s tate in wh ich w e are separate from G od , including but not

Listen to the nature of the baby cuckoo, and understanding its
qualities, think about it.
The cuckoo is clever and has a sweet voice, and her enemy is the
crow-who is the mine of sins.
Sh e lays her egg in his nest a n d m akes th e evil on e her friend.
T h e crow nourishes it, thinkin g that it is her friend. T h e crow-who
has th e intellect of Kal-hatches th at egg.
Th en the egg hatches an d the fledgling comes out . Afte r so me days
its eyes open.
W hen her body becomes strong, its mothe r comes to ma ke it hear
her voice.
Hearing her voice, the baby awaken s, since the voice of th e cucko o
family is dear t o her.
W hen the crow goes to bring foo d, again the cuckoo makes i t hear
her voice.
Sh e awa kens the baby cuckoo-which is her essence-and the
qualities of th e crow d o not remain in its heart.
O ne day, in front of t he crow, the cuckoo makes her baby fly away.
Sh e mak es it fly by singing with her voice, a n d the cro w becomes
restless a n d flies af te r them .
H e doesn t catch them an d, getting tired a fter a while, he comes
back hom e a nd goes to sleep.
The baby cuckoo reunites with its family, and the crow becomes
unconscious afte r engaging in fruitless wo rk.

Those who get to the Real Home in this way, I will liberate their
whole family.
The qualities of the ansa
bro ther, on e who gives up the intellect of the crow and takes up
the qualities of the Han sa, goes t o Sat L ok.
Nobody likes the voice of the crow; but hearing the voice of the
cuckoo, everyone is happy.
In the same way the Hansa speaks words of Love and Truth and
accepts the Word of the G uru as the Nectar of Love.
He doesn't speak deceitful words to others, and always remains
serene.
If anyo ne comes t o him bringing the fire of anger, h e himself extin-
guishes their heat after becoming water.
The following are the signs of the Knower and the ignorant one.
The ignorant one is crooked, ha rd, and of bad intellect.
The Knower is cool, full of love, and w ithin him reside truth, con-
tentment, and discrimination.
The qualities of the Knower
He is the Knower who removes the bad intellect and, recognizing
the element of mind, forgets it.
If on e speaks harsh words after becoming a gyani, such a gyani is
called an ignorant one.
No matter if on e seems to be brave-understand th at only he is
brave who goes in the battlefield and dies.
The Know er shou ld see from the sam e perspective-I am telling you
the signs.
In the foolish heart, effort does not come, and Sar Shabda and
Master are not understood.
If a blind one steps in the mu d, n obo dy laughs a t him; but if one
who has eyes steps into a bad place, he is blamed.
Dh aram Das, in this way-by the true Shabd a and the Remem -
brance of the Master-one shou ld distinguish between Know -
ledge and ignorance.

loses his birth.
W hen the time comes that the cow leaves her body, the de m on men
devour it.
Her skin also gives so much happiness. bro ther, so many good
qualities are in the body of the cow.
The qualities o the Parmarthi Saint
If-like the cow-Saints also accept this W ord , then Kal cannot
devour the jivas.
If one has such qualities in the human body, and he meets the
Satgu ru, he becomes imm ortal.
Listen, Dharam Das, to this Word of Parmarth. By doing Par-
m arth, nothing is lost.

Pa rm art h is the support of the Saint. On e who gets this from the
perfect Master goes to the other shore.
He gets the knowledge of the true Sha bda , an d by doing Par m art h

A man is very clever as he says, "I have good qualities an d
karmas
He calls himself "doer of good karmas,' ' an d for the bad karmas he
says that H ari has done it.
In this way the good karm as end a nd , Dh aram Das, by touching his
feet one gets only disappointm ent.
One who keeps Naam as the only hope never shows and boasts of
his good karma.
H e always keeps his attention at the Feet of th e Master, as the fish

H e always puts his attention in the Shab da of the M aster, a nd day
and night he sings the praises of the true Naam.
As the fish never forgets the water, in the same way he accepts the
Shabda.
The effect of Sat Purush's Naam is such that the Hansa doesn't
come in to the world again.
Definitely he goes to Sa t Pu rus h Dh aram Das , it is like the nature
of the turtle.
HYMN
The souls will come running to their home as is the nature of the
baby turtles;
The Messengers of Yama will look at them and-becoming weak-
they will no t go near th em .
Becoming fearless, the Hansas will go, reciting the Sa t Naam .
The H ansas will reunite with their family, an d all the Messengers of
Yama will stand there helplessly.
COUPLET
The Abode of Happiness where the Hansas will live happily is
precious;
