LoudMouth Soup is a four man Charlevoix/Boyne City band that has been playing together for
three years. They rocked Charlevoix’s Aquapalooza last year and make regular appearances
around northwest Michigan. The band plays a mixture of popular classic rock but specializes in
music that isn’t your typical overplayed anthems (i.e. don’t ask them to play Sweet Caroline).

Galactic Sherpa’s is a regional band that has been playing together since 2009. They blend
world percussion and brass instruments for a very unique and very fun sound. The Sherpa’s
“unite the forces of space and time… to create a sonic experience that draws from all corners of
the musical universe. Diving into jams as deep as a black hole, their high improvised style leaves
space travelers on the brink of cosmic euphoria.”

Combining elements of blues, jazz, funk, classic rock and instrumental music, the bands technical

plished musicians. Jon previously spent 17 years playing with Mojo & the Boogieman. He won
the Detroit Blues Challenge, and was a finalist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis,
TN. Jon has opened for BB King, Ray Charles, Buddy Guy, Johnny Lang, Foghat, and many more!

The Retro’s and Ruby John are at home with a variety of American roots music, from traditional
country to old-time mountain music with a bit of gospel and bluegrass thrown in. The band
comes from the Ellsworth area and have played all over the country. Andrea’ Moreno Beals, a
recent addition to the band also performs with acclaimed group Breathe Owl Breathe, who carry
with them a large group of devoted followers.

Dragon Wagon has the Americana medicine to cure whatever may ill you. Since their formation
in 2008, this Ann Arbor group has entertained audiences of all ages with a blast of pure energy,
eclectic humor and storytelling inclinations which make their shows so much more than music.

ist. Jim has released six award winning CD’s, he is also the author of two children’s books. Jim
has received five separate awards from the American Library Association for his recordings and
books over the years. In 2013 he began his tour to celebrate 20 years since the release of his
original album “The Sneezing Song and other Contagious Tunes”.

The MJTBB is a grouping of the top jazz musicians from around the State of Michigan, coming
together celebrate the rich heritage and many facets of jazz, and to build a diverse statewide
audience through education and entertainment. Their music is a sweet blend of soul, jazz and
blues that forces audience members to appreciate the years of skillful mastery of jazz music.

A true local band, the four members of The Sleeping Gypsies are all Charlevoix High School
graduates who play around Northern Michigan and bring with them a large following of friends
and fans. The entertain crowds with covers of songs from favorite classic artists but also release
their own original music with noticeable bits of blues, jazz, flamenco and swing elements with
catchy thoughtful lyrics. “With the Gypsies, it’s all about the music, and the music is good.”

Hailing from all corners of Michigan, Lindsay Lou & the Flatbelly’s are giving a nod to American
traditional music. Distinct vocal, tight harmonies, instrumental expertise and creative arrange-
ments are all essential characteristics of their unique sound. The group focuses on the original
tunes of Lindsay Lou Riko, which include true tales of bank robbing aunties, moonshinin’ grand-
pas and celebrations of love, life and nature. It’s an infectious vibe that could only have been
born in the heart of America’s Fresh Water Coast!

The Petoskey Steel Drum Band has been a part of the Charlevoix Concert Series since it’s incep-
tion, and still draws some of the largest crowds with their huge local following. The Band is very
active throughout the entire school year and performs over 20 concerts every summer.

Trombones Plus is an easy listening jazz ensemble featuring five trombones plus piano, drums,
guitar, and vocals. The group performs a wide variety of popular patriotic and jazz standards.
Trombones plus was formed in the mid-70’s by a group of former marching band members and
since then they have played more than 300 concerts around the Midwest.

Ten years, 25 states, three albums and a thousand shows later, Rootstand still remains a leader in
the Michigan music scene and beyond. Their unique sound matured to the level of national rec-
ognition. The foundations of Detroit rap and rock have intermarried with Colorado bluegrass, Cali-
fornia Reggae, and Dublin punk to produce the most unique band in the world of Roots-Rock.
