November brings us some cooler weather and a couple of
opportunities to have fun and serve. On November 1st we
will have our regularly scheduled youth, regular time and
everything; 3:30 for Chi Rho and 5pm for CYF. November
8th we will help the city Food Drive that benefits the
Loaves and Fishes Food Bank from 1- until done. We will
go to Daze in the Maze with the JYF group on November
15 from 1:30-4:30pm.
During Thanksgiving break, we will not have any youth meetings in evenings or after-
noons, and I will be spending time with my family.
On November 29, we have our hanging of the greens and our annual tasting party. Don’t
miss it.
Peace, JW.

Life Line Screening Central Christian Church is pleased to offer a preventive health event. Life Line Screening, a leading

health problems related to: blocked arteries which is a leading cause of stroke; abdominal aortic aneu-
rysms which can lead to a ruptured aorta; hardening of the arteries in the legs which is a strong pre-
dictor of heart disease; atrial fibrillation or irregular heart beat which is closely tied to stroke risk; and
a bone density screening, for men and women, used to assess the risk of osteoporosis. Register for a
Wellness Package which includes 4 vascular tests and osteoporosis screening from $149 ($139 with
our member discount). All five screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete. In order to register for

Search Committee Votes This past week we interviewed Dr. Jarrett Banks and his wife Lori. It
was a good visit and the Search Committee felt that this is what we have been praying for in the past months. It was also a feeling of the Banks.
On Sunday morning in an 8:30 a.m. meeting the committee met and we voted to recommend Dr. Banks to the Board and then to the congregation. It is a standing process and one I fully agree with. It is what the By-Laws state.
We plan to bring the Bank's back on November 12th, 13th, and 14th to meet with members of the congregation, church leaders, and staff. The acting chair of the Board, Suzanne Klemme and the next Vice Chair, Roger Groves, are in charge of setting up the process for the next meeting. A formal presentation on his Call will be made to the Board at its regularly scheduled November 18th meeting. This Call will be presented at a December 6th congregational meeting.
I cannot tell you the great outpouring of joy that was expressed this morning by the members of the church. It was a feeling we have not experienced in a long time. When you get a chance to meet Dr. Banks I believe you will feel the same way.
Finally, what we have done and what we are doing as a committee, has only the best interest of the church at heart. I have repeatedly stressed this with the committee. You may talk to any member of the committee and they are free to answer your questions regarding the Banks and our process.

Stewardship Campaign We had a wonderful turnout for our stewardship Sunday worship service and dinner last Sunday. I am very grateful to all those involved. The callers stimu-lated the best turnout for an all church dinner that I have seen in a long time. The dinner planners did an excellent job from set up to clean up and everything in between. Suzy did her usual outstanding job in preparing the meal. The min-isterial and secretarial staff all contributed a great deal of time and skill in put-ting this together. Dana Randolph’s singing was exceptional. We collected a large number of estimate of giving cards and I thank each and every one of you. I hope that those of you who have not been able to present an esti-mate of giving card will bring or mail their card to the church office or place their card in the offering plate next Sunday. If you need a card, call the church office and we will get one to you. These are estimates and can be changed if your situation changes by simply contacting the church’s financial secretary Your estimate of giving card is very important in our fiscal planning for 2016. The goal of the stewardship committee is to be able to present a new minister with a balanced budget.
