Micah Ministry
Introducing: "The Furniture Bank"
Local congregations are developing a system to receive donated furniture and household
items and distribute them to those who need it. In partnership with other local service
organizations, Micah has secured a 2550 sq. ft. warehouse for storage and started putting
together some volunteer teams to help with the collection and distribution.
The Details...
What you need to know about getting
involved
To let us know you have items to donate: + CALL 540-693-0472 + OR COMPLETE THE ONLINE FORM
Pick-ups are available primarily on Saturdays,
but drop offs directly at the warehouse may also
be arranged through the above contact.
To volunteer as a group or an individual:
+ E-mail or call Lori Yelverton; 540/479-
4116
The first pickups are scheduled for April 22 and
29. We are looking for groups that are willing
to be available at least once a month. You do
not have to have a truck to participate, but
someone on the team must have access to one
(this can include renting a U-haul--ask us for
details).
To make a donation:
+ Click the donate button above or visit
Micah's website directly.
+ Mail a check to P.O. Box 3277
Fredericksburg, VA 22402
Special thanks to Compassion Restoration, the
churches of Fredericksburg and Stafford
Schools for helping this project come to
fruition.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
• Develop a volunteer pick-up and delivery team OR just offer your self (and hopefully your truck) to be a part of an existing team. • Offer your organizational skills. Help is needed each week in the warehouse to organize, sort and distribute donated items • Make a financial contribution. This endeavor comes with new expenses (rent, truck rental, storage shelves) so every little bit helps. • Get your Spring cleaning done and let us know if you have items to donate. MOST NEEDED ITEMS:
• Beds (frame, headboard/foot board and gently used mattresses) • Dressers • Sofa, Loveseat or Chair • Dining room tables and chairs • End tables and lamps
