1. Hiring Manager contacts HR to initiate temporary hire process (if necessary)- Discuss and determine the attributes of the temporary appointment:
a. Job Titleb. Job description and qualificationsc. USG Level - submit for job evaluation if required
2. Manager completes Temporary Appointment Requisition form
3. Approvals obtained (as specified on Temporary Appointment Requisition form)- Department Head/Chair: Required for ALL temporary appointments- Executive Council: Required for temporary appointments over four months induration and paid from the operating budget- Note: Vice-President Academic & Provost approval will be required if the temporaryappointment is more than 5 years, or if there are severance obligations for thesuccessful candidate
