What is a FabLab? (fabrication laboratory)A small-scale workshop offering digital fabrication. It’s an open access, not-for-profi t, community resource where anybody can invent and make just about anything.
What’s in a Fab Lab?An evolving array of fl exible computer-controlled machines that allow you to invent, make and share. You could print t-shirts, produce electronic circuit boards, program a computer or CNC machine an electric guitar.
Where can I fi nd a FabLab?
KEVICC students are hugely privileged to have access to Fab Lab Totnes in their Design & Technology Studios AND, in addition to that, the local community are welcomed in on Tuesday evenings (in term times) to use the equipment and to benefi t from our staff' expertise. And at no cost.
How many FabLabs are there? There are now over 200 Fab Labs worldwide, linked to one another; open to local inventors, artists, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.
Who set up this FabLab?
Devon County Council opened the Exeter FabLab as part of their multi-million pound revamp of Exeter Library in 2014. It proved to be such a hit that it then expanded its service in Devon to include a partnership with KEVICC, opening FabFab Totnes.
