TAE40110 to TAE40116 UPGRADE
PARTICIPANT INFORMATION & ENROLMENT APPLICATION
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 has been superseded by TAE40116.
Whilst both qualifications require a minimum of 10 Units of Competency (UOC), TWO qualifications are NOT
EQUIVALENT.
TAE40110 required the completion of 7 Core Units and at least 3 Elective Units
TAE40116 requires the completion of 9 Core Units and at least 1 Elective Unit
The 2 new Core Units in the TAE40116 are:
TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
Other important information:
The Unit TAEASS401B – Plan assessment activities and processes has been superseded by TAEASS401 and the two units are NOT EQUIVALENT due to the increased assessment requirements of the new Unit
The Unit TAEASS403B – Participate in assessment validation has been superseded by TAEASS403 and the two Units are NOT EQUIVALENT due to the increased assessment requirements of the new Unit
Although some assessment requirements have changed, the other specified Units for the TAE40116 qualification have been identified as being equivalent to the Units that they superseded
ENTRY REQUIREMENT - There is a new entry requirement for TAE40116. Participants entering this
program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing
area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include,
but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
The following upgrade paths apply:
Applicants MUST meet the new entry requirement as outlined above
Applicants who do not hold the two new core units (TAEASS502 and TAELLN411) will need to undertake these units and also the two non-equivalent units (TAEASS401 and TAEASS403). Total of 4 units.
However, some students may already have one or both of the required core units for the new TAE40116 which may have been obtained as electives under TAE40110 or as part of their study in a related Diploma program. In these cases, students will receive a credit transfer for TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools and/or TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills as part of the upgrade process.
Students who already hold the additional core units (TAEASS502 and TAELLN411) will only need to complete the two (2) non-equivalent units i.e. TAEASS401 and TAEASS403.
It should be noted that the upgrade pricing will vary based on how much gap training is required.
