Student leaders fromacross the state will soonarrive for the seventhannual Tennessee YouthLeadership Summit. Theevent, Feb. 22-24, willhelp students hone anddemonstrate their leader-ship skills.

Bill Cordes, a national-ly-recognized motiva-tional speaker, is thisyear’s keynote speaker.The conference theme is“You Only Get Out WhatYou Put In,” or“YOGOWYPI!”

The event is sponsoredby the Student Govern-ment Association, theLeadership EducationApplication Discovery(LEAD) Academy andthe Office of StudentAffairs.

High school sopho-mores, juniors or seniorsinvolved with a localleadership program orstudent government aswell as alumni, boardmembers, leadershipdirectors and volunteersinvolved with youthleadership are invited toparticipate.

The fee is $75 per par-ticipant. Each studentalso will receive a bookwritten by Cordes.

The Faculty Writing Project presents anopportunity for faculty to learn more aboutwriting and about teaching. It provides aforum for faculty to produce their own writ-ten work, to explore professional writing andto test out new methods for incorporatingwriting in the classroom and in professionalexperience.

Tenured and tenure-line faculty committedto becoming part of a community of teacher-writers are invited to apply. Voice Lessonsseeks wide representation among colleges.
