– Trade marks.
– Industrial designs.
– Geographical Indications.
– Patents.
– Plant Varieties
– Trade Secret, etc.
• It is an intellectual property right recognised in over 160 countries (WTO TRIPS Agreement) https://www.wto.org/english/thewto_e/countries_e/org6_map_e.htm
– Only once it is protected in its country of origin a GI can request protection in other member countries
• It is a collective right of use (do not belong to one individual or company)
