FABULOUS WEEK FOUR!We kicked off another amazing week at LakeView with water slides and more on our annual
WATER DAY, and continued showing our summer spirit with COLLEGE DAY on Tuesday. !
We rocked it out on ROCK STAR DAY on Wednesday with performances from staff and
campers, and then rolled into STAR WARS DAY on Thursday. We had fun on our new STORY
BOOK CHARACTER DAY to wrap up the first half of the summer.
Teen, 3rd and 4th Grade campers all enjoyed overnights this week, and we loved our LakeView
Playhouse performances on Friday! We said goodbye (but see you soon!) to our four week
campers today … Week 5 starts on Monday, so rest up and have a great weekend!

Week 4 Overnights!
Week 4 has been chock- full of overnight stays! 3rd
grade girls enjoyed silk bandana marbling, an on-
camp escape room activity and a dance
competition before a good night’s sleep on Tuesday!
B3 had fun with Boating and Lego challenges,
followed by a surprise night swim and Italian ices
before bed!
On Wednesday, 4th grade girls made glitter bottle
crafts and produced a music video (!), and enjoyed
a night swim and s’mores before settling in for the
night. And 4th grade boys had fun with the LVDC
International staff, playing pool games, followed by
trivia and s’mores!

the second half of the summer!News from the
LakeView Playhouse!On Friday, Senior campers (5th and 6th graders) presented “Legally Blonde” for an audience of campers; and had a second performance for
friends and family in the evening!Our 3rd and 4th graders treated campers and families to their performance of The “Elf, Jr.”
Friday morning. Many thanks to the LakeViewTheater Specialist Brittany for working with
campers to create these fantastic shows! Bravo!

Coming Week 5…..Some of our Senior campers will be spending all of next week here at LakeView for our fourth
annual Sports Overnight Week! Campers will spend the entire week, participating in their regular schedule during the day, and enjoying sports-themed activities (including a trip to Top Golf!) in the
evenings before getting some sleep here at camp.
Teen and LVLP Update:
This week, LakeView Teens and LVLPs spent Thursday afternoon at the Philadelphia Phillies baseball game; and enjoyed a sleepover here at camp! Next week they head to Broadway to see
a performance of King Kong!
While they’re here at LakeView, Teens enjoy everything camp has to offer! LVLPs are
spending half days experiencing what it’s like to be a staff member by helping out with our
younger campers and activities!
Water Day Fun
What’s Cooking in Cooking
The recipe of the week is for Mini S’mores Cups!
Ingredients: -2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 12 tablespoons melted butter
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 12 marshmallows
- 1 or two Hershey bars
• Grease a mini muffin pan with cooking spray
• Combine graham cracker crumbs and powdered sugar, then pour melted butter over and
mix
• Press the mixture into the muffin pan and bake for 8-10 minutes
• Place 1-2 chocolate squares in each cup, and cover with ½ marshmallow
• Broil to toast the marshmallows (but watch VERY carefully so you don’t burn them!)
• Enjoy warm or fully cooled.
Featured Divisions – 3rd and 4th Grade Girls
3rd and 4th Grade Girls are halfway through an amazing summer in their mermaid-themed bunk!
G3 Division Leader Jess and counselors Jasmine, Francesca, Angela, Cassie, Morgan and Kayla say these girls are spunky and kind. They love arts & crafts
(especially lanyard!), LakeView’s new zipline and anything active!
And G4 is having a great time at mad science, ropes and swim with Division Leader Jamie and counselors Alexis, Gillian and Amzi! The G4 girls are energetic and silly
and also love playing four square outside of their bunk!

Outside of camp, Kathryn is an environmental advocate and is spearheading our new composting initiative this summer! We’ve started composting food scraps and paper goods from one of the camp eating areas with plans to expand in the future!
