It is in the middle of the most dense complex ofNeolithicandBronze Agemonuments in England, including several hundredburial mounds.Avebury is aNeolithichengemonument containing three stone circles, around thevillage of AveburyinWiltshire, in southwest England. Unique amongstmegalithicmonuments, Avebury contains the largest stone circle in Europe, and is one of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain. It is both a tourist attraction and a place of religious importance tocontemporary Pagans.
