Natural Vegetation
Moldova is situated in two natural zones: forest-steppe and steppe.
However, natural vegetation has only been preserved in certain
areas. Moldova’s steppes originally were grass-covered, but most of
them are now cultivated. Lush meadows and reed growths occur in
the floodplains of the Dniester and portions of the Prut, while salt-
marsh grasslands flourish in the saline valleys of the Cogâlnic,
Ialpug, Botna, and lower Prut.
The climate of the Voronovsky District is
continental, with cold winters and relatively
warm summers. The continental climate of
Belarus is more distinct the closer the region is
to the centre of the European continent and to
the Eastern European Plain.
In general, nature has been favourable towards
our land. Our climate is considered as
moderate with average winter temperatures -
5°C and summer temperatures +17°C. The
amount of precipitation is about 700 millimeters
per year. The vegetative period is 193 days.
The favourable climatic conditions of our area are suitable for cultivation of:
wheat
rye
barley
potato
sugar beetroot
maize and other agricultural plants
The most common grown fruit
and berries in the gardens are:Apples
