EMBRACE the title of this magazine and let yourself spring into spring. Take a walk in nature, admire the beauty around you, get out in the garden, witness the growth, and even jump into the ocean … literally stop and smell the roses.
Let’s look at spring. It is one of the four temperate seasons and always follows winter and precedes summer. When it is spring in the Southern Hemisphere, it is autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.
At the spring equinox, days and nights are approximately 12 hours long. In Australia, spring begins on September 1 and ends on November 30.
In an interesting take, Swedish meteorolo-
gists defi ne the beginning of spring as the fi rst occasion on which the average daytime temperature exceeds zero degrees Celsius for seven consecutive days. Thus the date can vary according to location, beliefs, lati-tude and elevation.
During spring, the length of daylight rapidly increases which begins to warm signifi cantly, causing new plant growth to ‘spring forth’, giving the season its name.
It could even be the most popular season for people residing in the Great Southern … simply because it means the end of winter! Turn the heater off and get out there and enjoy it.

For a couple who knew nothing about house de-sign, home planning and building, we have ended up with a home that is better than we could have ever hoped for imagined. When at our fi rst meeting with Rob Forgione, he asked what we wanted in a home. Our reply was – air-conditioning and security! A place where we could stay into our old age!We were happy to see what Rob would come up with as he had the experience and we were lucky to have been able to see a home he had just completed.Together with Rob Forgione and his brilliant team who had a vision, we went from paper plans to a home that is easy to live in and a home our family loves being in.A home that makes the most of the northerly views across our beautiful town and bay.Concept Building Design really looked after us every step of the way and were nothing but accom-modating of our wishes and unplanned changes at each phase of the build. We love our new home!
