About the Project
¡ SOS Technical Training Institute (InfaqFoundation Campus) - SOS TTI, is a jointventure between SOS Children’s Villages ofSindh and Infaq Foundation.
¡ SOS TTI is managed by SOS Children'sVillage of Sindh - a Non Profit Organization(NGO) registered in Pakistan. It is engagedin the care of orphaned and abandonedchildren. It also provides medical facilities,schooling and vocational training to theseand other needy children in the community.

Objectives
¡ SOS TTI’s objective is to provide deservingand underprivileged boys and girls in thecommunity with an opportunity to engagein vocational training in a technical field oftheir choice.
¡ Our philosophy is “Skill Development forEmployment”.
¡ The training is targeted to help studentssecure entry level employment so they canlearn to financially support their familiesand live with dignity.
¡ We believe that increasing the skilled laborforce of Pakistan will contribute towards theoverall economic progress, prosperity andstability of the country.

About the Campus
SOS TTI is located nearLalabad Goth in Korangi,Karachi and is easilyaccessible from Landhi andKorangi. The area is largelyinhabited by factoryworkers, drivers,chowkidars, fishermen andindividuals from lowincome groups.
Its state-of-the-artbuilding was designed byprominent architect, HabibFida Ali. The purpose builtcampus consists of acentral courtyardsurrounded by spaciousworkshops, classrooms, anadministrative unit and airycorridors.
The Institute wasinaugurated on February 3rd

Curriculum¡ The SOS TTI has designed a range of 6 and 4
months courses which are 20% theory and80% practical. All courses have been approvedby the Sindh Board of Technical Education &Trade Testing Board (TTB). At the end of eachcourse, students are tested by the Boards forcertificate of graduation.
¡In 2013 SOSTTI has setup a newRefrigeration
& Air Conditioning Workshop and upgradedthe Welding Workshop. The German ConsulGeneral in Karachi has funded theprocurement of Equipment, Tools andFurniture.

Do we make adifference?
Yes we do!¡ Our purpose is not to just increase our
graduate roll.
¡ We take an active interest in ensuringthat our graduates are recognized ascompetent technicians and use theirskills to upgrade their lives:
l 1394 students have graduated since 2009and most of them have been able tosecure gainful employment.
l Internship is arranged for students to helpthem in transition from the institute to theworkplace.
l Girls from Fisherman’s Village and SherpaoColony are benefiting from ComputerEducation and English Language Courses.
l Students from very poor villages / gothshave been admitted free of cost toencourage them and give them a chance toimprove their life.
