S2000NM SNUBBER TEST BENCHES
The Barker/Diacon System 2000NM Series Snubber Test Bench is designed to provide utilities and service companies with a rugged, easy to maintain, and easy to use piece of test gear to support snubber ISI activities.A typical standard machine includes a high force load frame, a low force test frame, a hydraulic power unit (HPU), and a system control console. We build test benches with capacities from 6 kip to 200 kip, or higher on special order.
The System 2000NM Snubber Test Bench System is capable of testing all types of snubbers, including mechanical acceleration limiting, mechanical velocity limiting, and hydraulic velocity limiting with or without activation (lock up) characteristics.
We can also build integral units where the HPU is built into each frame, for space savings and easier transport.
Advantages of the Barker/Diacon System 2000 test bench include
CONCENTRICALLY LOADED FRAME - The triple rail design provides greater strength and rigidity than "I-Beam" type designs. This eliminates instrument inaccuracies due to off axis loading and allows a stronger, lighter test bench.
WINDOWS BASED SOFTWARE - User friendly Windows based software shares a common user interface across our product line. Human performance errors are minimized through strict computer control of all aspects of snubber testing. Convenient features such as automated daily calibration checks enhance user confidence.

S2000NM “INTEGRAL” SNUBBER TEST BENCHES
The Barker/Diacon System 2000NM Integral Series Snubber Test Bench has all the features of our standard S2000NM line except that all hydraulic components are mounted in the base of each bench. This makes the bench system more compact and more easily transported. Due to size constraints, Integral systems are only available up to 75 kip capacity.
The S2000NM “Mini” Integral machine is specially designed to be highly portable. With a capacity of up to 5 kips, it can test all Basic/PSA snubbers up to PSA10 at reduced load and all typical hydraulic snubbers up to 5 kip at rated load. The mini is completely self contained and runs off of regular 110V “house” current, so it requires virtually no setup. It is also the only tester which can be configured in either the horizontal or vertical axis.The Mini also has available tooling to allow PSA snubber testing without removing extension pieces, resulting in significant time savings in the field.

TEST BENCH UPGRADES
For those who already have test bench, but wish to upgrade it to the latest operating specification, Diacon can supply complete system upgrades. Scope of supply depends on the type and condition of the donor equipment.
At a minimum, we will completely replace the hydraulic power unit, the electrical controls, the instrumentation amplifiers, and supply a new control console.
Depending on the donor equipment and customer requirements, additional equipment may include new driver cylinder(s), pins/bushings, and primary instruments for load, position, and velocity.
Once upgraded, upgraded machine function identically to our current S2000NM machines.
We have successfully upgraded full capability benches from BP, A/DE and Enertech.
For those utilities with MHCI 623A/B machines, we can supply a very cost effective upgrade which replaces the obsolete electronic controls with a laptop computer and printer.

IPST10 In Place Snubber TesterLarge bore equipment snubbers present specific testing challenges. Their installed locations and large physical size make removal and replacement costly both in time and money. Their usually high rated loads require test benches of extreme capabilities and cost.For these reasons, Barker/Diacon engineers developed "In Place" testing. In Place testing uses a specialized hydraulic system to load the snubber hydraulically using internal pressure, instead of mechanically using applied force. Sophisticate flow and pressure instrumentation measure the internal activity of the snubber valves, and our proprietary software converts the information to the commonly required load and velocity quantities.
There are many variations to the In Place type of testing, including valve only testing, pin removed and "PIP" or pins-in-place testing. Which type of testing is most appropriate depends on the site, snubber design and other considerations. All methods save a considerable amount of time, money and personnel dose rate compared to remove/bench test/ replace scenarios.
Barker/Diacon IPST10 snubber testers can perform all variations of In Place testing on snubbers up to 2 million lbf and above.

SNUBBER SUPPORT EQUIPMENT
Barker/Diacon supplies several types of equipment to support snubber related activities in the field.
Snubber Handling Cranes - Designed to fit on new or existing test benches, these cranes facilitate quick, safe, and easy placement of larger snubbers in the bench. They are designed to fit completely within the footprint of the bench when stowed to minimize clutter in the testing space.
Calibration Toolkits - For customers who wish to perform their own calibrations in-house, we can supply specialized calibration toolkits to make the job easier.
Fluid Filtering Machines - designed to clean and dewater snubber fluids such as SF-1154 silicone to the most stringent levels.

PFM-02 FLUID FILTERING MACHINE
Dirt and Water Removal1st Stage
This Filter Stage removes both solid contaminants and water. 25 Micron Impregnated paper for dirt removal Open Cell absorbent polymer water removal.
Polishing Element2nd Stage
Filters suspended contaminants to 1 Micron in diameter Removal of oxidation and decomposition products from synthetic fluids.
"Unattended" Continuous & Versatile Operation
Fill the reservoir with fluid, set the timer and flow speed switches, and this machine will filter the fluid "Unattended" until the timer switch runs out. When either of the filter elements become dirty, the machine will automatically shut down. Warning lights on the panel will tell the operator that the filter elements need to be changed before the machine can be restarted. Fluid can be poured directly into the reservoir, or drawn from an external source by changing the external suction ball valve position.
