Slide2Lead Overview
'Slide 2 Lead' is meant to SYNC Slideshare Documents, Campaigns, Leads, Document Statistics into Salesforce.com
It is only Uni-directional Synchronization from SlideShare to Salesforce.com One can create SlideShare Campaign (AdShare or LeadShare) from Salesforce.com
One can schedule the Synchronization
Prerequisites
The following are required to install and configure Slide2Lead:
SlideShare Business Account
If you don’t have one yet, you can open an account at http://www.slideshare.net
Installation
Slide2Lead can be installed from the following URL
http://appexchange.salesforce.com/listingDetail?listingId=a0N30000003JGsWEAW
Steps to Install Slide2Lead
After selecting slide2Lead from App exchange and providing your Salesforce Login Credentials. The
Following page will appear which shows the Package components that are going to be added.
Click Continue Button to add Package.

When you click continue a popup will rise as shown in the figure 2 which will prompt for the
Remote Site settings.
Select Check Box “Yes, grant access to these third-party web sites” which will add Slideshare
Remote Settings into the Salesforce. Otherwise you need to go to Settings and do it manually as
specified in Configuration guide.

Now you will be redirected to the API access page click NEXT

Next you will be redirected to Security Settings page where you can grant access to
Admins Only
All users
Specify your own settings
Select the security settings suitable for your requirement and click Next

Then you will be redirected to Installation Page. Select the check box which will ignore any errors
while installing.

Select the Checkbox as shown in the figure 5 and click Install.
Once the Installation is complete you will be redirected to the Deployment page where there are 2
options Deploy Now and Deploy Latter. Select Deploy Now Option and click Deploy in the next page.

This will deploy the package components in your Salesforce and redirects you to Slide2Lead
Package detail page as shown in the figure 7.

The package is successfully installed in your Salesforce edition. Go through the Salesforce.com
Setup before running the application.

Salesforce.com Setup
Following manual settings should be done in the Salesforce before running this Application.
Remote Settings.
Add Campaign Type.
Add Campaign Page Layout.
Add Create Campaign Link in the Side Bar.
Remote Settings
While Installing the App If the Remote Site settings is selected then no need to add the Remote site settings manually.
Adding Remote Site Settings while installing Package
While Installing the Package in the “package Installation Detail” page, when “Continue”
button is clicked. A Popup is Raised named ”Approve Third-party Access”. In this window select the checkbox “Yes grant access to third-party websites.” and click
continue.

Checking Remote Site Settings added to your Salesforce org or not
In Salesforce Navigate to Setup Administration Setup Security Controls RemoteSiteSettings
Check for Remote Site Name = Slideshare Remote Site URL = http://www.slideshare.net Name Space Prefix = Slide2Lead

If Remote Site Settings is not present, add it manually using following steps:
In Salesforce Navigate to
Setup Administration Setup Security Controls RemoteSiteSettings Then click "New RemoteSite" button and add the following values
Remote Site Name = Slideshare Remote Site URL = http://www.slideshare.net
Click Save

Add Campaign Type
In Salesforce Navigate to
Setup App Setup Campaigns Fields
Then in the 'Campaign Standard Fields' select 'Type'
Go to 'Campaign Type Picklist Values' related list and click 'New' button

Add Campaign Page Layout
In Salesforce Navigate to Setup App Setup Campaigns Page Layouts
Select 'Page Layout Assignment' Click 'Edit Assignment' and select 'Master Record Type' Select Campaign Layout (Installed Package: Slide2lead) from the Page Layout to use and
Click Save.

Add Lead Source Value
In Salesforce Navigate to
Setup App Setup Leads Fields
Then in the 'Lead Standard Fields' select 'Type'
Go to 'Lead Source Picklist Values' related list and click 'New' button
Add 'Slideshare' values exactly as mentioned here.

In Salesforce Navigate to Setup App Setup Leads Page Layouts
Select 'Page Layout Assignment' Click 'Edit Assignment' and select 'Page Layout' Select Lead Layout (Installed Package: Slide2lead) from the Page Layout to use and Click
Save.

Add Create Campaign Link in the Side Bar
Navigate
Setup App Setup Customize Home Home Page Layouts
Select Edit for 'DE Default'
Then in the 'Edit Home Layout' Page make 'Slideshare' checkbox ticked in the 'Select
Narrow Components to Show' Section

Click Next. Then in the 'Narrow (Left) Column' select the 'Slideshare' and assign it to top and
click Save

Add Slideshare Credentials
Once all the settings are done in the Salesforce add the Slideshare Credentials in the
Salesforce. Select the Slide2Lead Tab. Click the Select Login Button. Enter the Slideshare User Name and Password. Click Save.

Next Steps
Once all the settings are done as mentioned above in Salesforce.com, the package is ready and we
can start working on it.
The following functionalities are present in the Slide2Lead
Sync Schedule Create Slideshare Campaign Sync with Slideshare.
Sync
Go to Slide2Lead Tab and select the Sync Button. This Button will Extract all the Slideshare Campaigns, Document Stats , Leads and Save it
into Salesforce. Slideshare Campaigns are saved in Campaign Object. Slideshare Leads are saved in the Lead Object. Slideshare Document Stats are saved in the slideshows object.
And displays the message Sync Success.

Go to Slide2Lead Tab and select the Schedule Button. This button will schedule the process of syncing the Slideshare Campaigns, Leads,
Document Stats into Salesforce.com, everyday 12 am. And if it is already scheduled and again the Schedule button is clicked it’ll show the “Already
Scheduled” Message.

Create Slideshare Campaign
If the above mentioned settings are correctly done “Create Slideshare Campaign ” Link will
be present on the Left side Bar. This Link will land you in the Slideshare home page. Enter the Slideshare Login Credentials and create the Adshare/ Leadshare Campaigns. Then Select “Click Me After Creating Campaign”. This will sync the newly created campaign into Salesforce.

Sync with Slideshare This button will be present in the Campaign Detail Page. When this button is clicked it will sync that particular campaign with Slideshare.

The Leads collected at the Lead share level will automatically be synced with the related Campaign in the Sales force instance as campaign members.

One can verify the number of leads associated at sales force instance by referring at the slide share ,Lead share section as shown below

One can also find the campaign slides details in the related list of the campaign.

On clicking the Document Stats Name you will be redirected to the slide show detail page where you can find the related campaigns as well as the associated leads info
