power at work through
His word and among His
people in Mexico. There
is still much for us to do
in the next
few months in
order to pre-
pare for the
launch of this
new congre-
gation. Please
pray that our
labors will not
be in vain, but
that manymore would
be led to the Lord here in

During our first year in
Mexico, we have been
praying about and pre-
paring for the location
of the future
congregation
with which our
team will be
working. We
are excited to
share with you
that we have
decided to stay
in Cuernavaca
for our futurework! We have
yet to choose where we
will be meeting or what
the name of the new
church will be, but we
are extremely eager to
see what God has in
store for us here and to
be able to witness His
For just over a month, I
have been filling in for
Cuernavaca missionaryBen Jenkins in his absence
in the Bible Insti-
tute here. Every
Wednesday night
I meet with a
group of students
who are studying
Old Testament
History II and the
book of Revelation. The
teaching is done through
videos made by SunsetBible Institute that have
been translated into Span-
ish but it has been a good
challenge for me to pre-pare answers to the ques-
tions in the work-
books and for the
students questions in
class. It is rewarding
to see how hungry
they are for the word
of God as they grow
in their maturity.

A Ripe Harvest
Piatas y Mordidas
On the Road AgainWe have travelled a great deal over
the last few months. Kristina re-
cently attended a Come Before
Winter seminar in Honduras with
dozens of other
women in minis-
try from the
Americas. She
came home re-
energized, en-
couraged, and
excited about
how she can
pass on the
things that
she learned
to others.
The men on
our team
have also
been travel-
ling to visit
with area missionaries. We
learned an amazing amount
from their experiences and ex-
pertise and we feel like our
older children often being
blindfolded. There is a
lesser known tradition
however, called amordida al pastel (cake
bite) which requires the
birthday boy or girl to take
the first bite of cake with-
out utensils. This action is
often then accompanied
by a friend or relative

Most of the world
knows that no birthday
party in Mexico is com-
plete without a piata. They come in all shapes
and sizes and are filled
with candy, bags of
chips, and toys. Each
child at the party takes
a turn trying to break
open the piata with
the cake. This was a role
Noah was very happy to fill
for his brother.
Jesus. Praise God
that He is working
here in Mexico! It
is a testimony to
the receptivity of
Cuernavaca to the
truth of Gods
Word. It is an
honor and a privi-
lege to share in
these experiences
with our Mexican
brother and sisters
in Christ.
One of the most excit-
ing aspects of our
time here so far has
been the fruitfulness
of the Mexican Chris-
tian men around us.
Through their dedica-
tion to Gods word
and their willingness
to share it with others,
we have witnessed
several people make
