THE ISSUE AT STAKE

Over the past months, the Migrants in Countries

in Crisis (MICIC) Initiative has been regularly

referenced as a centrepiece in the process to

adopt the Global Compacts and inform efforts to

clarify responsibilities towards migrants in vul-

nerable situations.

The side event aims to take stock of lessons

learnt by the MICIC Initiative. This mini-

multilateral process has shown its value to

efficiently fill protection gaps at both policy and

practical levels .
