SIX Key Understandings about CPD
1. A system cannot exceed quality of its teachers
2. High quality teachers rely upon high quality professional development
3. Current Professional Development has limited impact
4. For adult learning to be effective it has to be contextualised
5. Collaboration between individuals , schools and systems are key to effective development
6. Building professional capital is key –empowerment not control!
