Shaped Popup Card Instructions

Robyn Cockburn 2011 purchased from www.craftsuprint.com

1. Cut out all the pieces. I used 200gsm matte photo paper. Anything from 160gsm to 260gsm should work.

These instructions apply to ALL of the shaped popup cards even though the outline shape is different.

2. Take the OUTSIDE and INSIDE main sheets and place wrong sides together.

3. Apply glue to one half of the shape at a time. I used PVA to allow time to adjust the positioning for perfect alignment.

4. After attaching one half of the inside and outside, fold back the loose halves and apply glue. These halves should line up without any adjustment.

5. Fold the Box Strips along the 4 marked lines and join to form little hollow box shapes.

6. Attach the first little box to the base of the card inside – a line is marked for the front edge of each of these boxes. ALSO attach the BACK of the little box to the upper half of the card inside. Refer to Popup Box 1 in the photo.

7. Attach the first decorative element to the front of this little popup box. Eg. For the teapot you attach the Cupcake to the first box. For the Santa in a Giftbox Card you attach the Christmas Tree to the first box etc.

8. Attach Popup Box 2 to the front of the decorative element that now stands up. Eg. To the front of the cupcake or the front of the tree etc. ALSO attach the bottom of Popup Box 2 to the base of the card.

9. These little boxes will fold

FORWARD and FLAT when you close the card.

10. Attach the second decorative element to the front – eg. The tea cup in this case or Santa in front of the tree for that card.

11. Attach selected greetings to inside/outside of card.

12. These cards are designed to STAND or HANG. If you want to be able to hang them, punch a hole through the top when the card is closed. Attach a fine cord to one side – this can then slide through the second hole when you want to hang it up.
