Approachingthecar,henoticesthattherearefiveoldladies-two in the front seat and three in the back -wide eyed andwhiteasghosts.Thedriver,obviously confused, says tohim,"Officer, I don't understand, I was doing exactly the speedlimit!Whatseemstobetheproblem?"

"Ma'am," the officer replies, "youweren't speeding, butyoushouldknowthatdrivingslowerthanthespeedlimitcanalsobeadangertootherdrivers."

"Slower than the speed limit? No sir, Iwas doing the speedlimit exactly ... twenty-two miles an hour!" the old womansaysabitproudly.

TheStatePoliceofficer,tryingtocontainachuckleexplainstoherthat"22"wastheroutenumber,notthespeedlimit.

A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked theofficerforpointingouthererror.

"ButbeforeIletyougo,Ma'am,Ihavetoask...iseveryoneinthis car OK? These women seem awfully shaken and theyhaven'tmuttered a single peep thiswhole time," the officerasks.

"Oh, they'll be all right in a minute officer.We just got offRoute119."
