Value and value exchange
VALUE
The snowflake
What are we actually saying when we say,
let’s ‘think differently’?
The triune brain
PLASTICITY AND DISSONANCE
Let’s experiencedissonance!
Underpinning concept for authentic value exchange is human–centricity.
Underpinning concept for authentic value exchange is human–centricity.
Value appears when the humans show up.
The hidden commitments of
human–centricity and their shadow
Commit to no trade offs between people and business.
You’ll annoy some people, and get some things wrong.
Commit to changing your perspective on what is valuable.
Valuing different things affect how you’re perceived.
Commit to design and lead for the whole.
This results inoverwhelming complexity, so you need to learn that too.
Commit to letting go of some control. (it’s an illusion anyway)
… but remain accountable.
Commit to longer term thinking.
The longer term our thinking, the harder progress feels.
Commit to having empathy, it is essential for humanity.
Empathy can be manipulated, and boundarieswill be challenged.
Commit to being vulnerable.
Being vulnerable means you will get hurt.
Commit to transforming yourself, before you can transform anything else.
Transforming yourself has ramifications beyond your work.
We make these commitmentswhen we choose to transform our organisations into human– centric ones. (Whether we realise it or not)
And its worth it, and the world needs it.
