Water Bodies: SCHEME OBJECTIVES
• Surface run-off available in J.B.Campus goes as waste in the absence of surface/subsurface water impounding structure
• Decline in ground water levels in the range of 4-6 m during the last decade
• Further continued decline of GW levels will result in reversal of ground water gradient adjacent to Vrishbhavathi river
• To avert the crisis- RWH and ARS

PHASE II• Catchment area- 0.6 sq.km• Structures – 2 check dams & one vertical shaft• Run-off harvested – 24,000 cu.m
/annum• Unit cost Paise 30 per 100 litres of water• Monitoring under progress
