Welcome! Every Catholic should be registered in the Parish. Letters of testimony for Godparents and Sponsors cannot be given unless one is

responsibility of every Catholic. We urge all parishioners to make regular use of their collection envelopes. When moving, notify the Parish office.
OUR LADY OF SORROWS MISSION STATEMENT We are Catholic Christians of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish who are conscious
of the plan of God for the salvation of all. We praise the Lord in our everyday lives by sharing our faith and talents with each other for the
continued growth of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Community. We wish to live the Beatitudes of Jesus and put them into practice in our daily lives as we
answer His call to evangelization.
December 4, 2016 2nd Sunday of Advent “Therefore, every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” MATTHEW 3:10 Do you bear good fruit for Christ? Or, do you spend your time, talent and treasure constantly acquiring more toys, clutter and junk. Our time, our talent and our treasure are gifts that God has given us. What we do with them is our gift back to God. What gifts are you planning to give to the Lord during this upcoming Christmas season?
Please note there will be No Choir Practice tomorrow evening, December 5th. Choir practice will resume at 7:15 PM next Monday. All are welcome.
To participate, please take an ornament from the tree in the back of the church. Please bring the wrapped gifts no lat-er than the 8:00 AM Mass on Sunday, December 18th.
Be sure to attach the “tag” from the giving tree so it can be easily identified for sorting.
Help will be needed to sort, etc.
Volunteers will be needed to help with the delivery of the gifts, which, will be delivered on December 21st.
The Mercy in Motion group will meet immediately follow-ing the 10:30 AM Mass today. All are welcome.
SACRAMENTS FOR THE SHUT-INS
Those who would like to receive the Sacrament in their homes during the Advent Season, may call the Rectory during office hours to make the necessary arrangements.
Christmas Wafers
The celebration of Christmas by American families is enriched spiritually when the time honored “Old Country” traditional customs are adopted. The father breaks the Christmas Wafer into pieces, which he shares with his wife and chil-dren as they sit around the table covered with a white cloth, under which there is straw, as a reminder of the Ho-ly Child’s Manger in Bethlehem. As the members share this “bread of peace and reconciliation” they wish one an-other happiness and joy for the Christmas Season and the New Year, mutually asking and receiving forgiveness for any hurts or offenses they may have been guilty of during the last twelve months. Wafers are available from the ush-ers or at the Rectory during office hours. Cost $5.00.
Christmas Spiritual Bouquets
All Masses on Christmas Day, including the Christmas Vigil Mass at 5:00 pm, will be offered for all individuals, living or deceased, as stated on the Spiritual Bouquet Mass Cards. Christmas cards are available in the vestibule of the church and at the Rectory during office hours. Complete the front of the envelope and return it with your donation of $5 per individual. Place it in the collection basket or return it the Rectory. The greeting card and envelope are yours to present or keep. All intentions will be placed on the Altar during all Christmas Masses.
Christmas Plant Memorials Donations of $10 will be accepted toward the purchase of Christmas Plants in memory of a loved one or special intention. These plants will be placed on the Altars of the Church during the Christmas Season. Please fill out the form below and place it in the collection basket, mail, or drop it off at the Rectory.

Immaculate Conception The Feast of the Immaculate conception celebrates Mary’s freedom from original sin. In 1854, Pope Pius IX made the infallible statement, “The most blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instant of her conception… was preserved free from all stain of original sin.” The Catechism teaches that for Mary to become the mother of the Savior, she was en-riched by God with gifts appropriate to such as role. Other humans are cleansed of original sin after birth. But Jesus’ work was so powerful and Mary’s role in it was so crucial that it kept her from original sin at the outset. In fact, when the angel Gabriel addresses Mary as “full or grace” in Luke 1:28, he means that Mary is receiving all the special divine help necessary for the task ahead. More than ever, our Prayers to the Blessed Mother are necessary to guide and protect us. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated on Thursday, December 8th.
