INFANT BAPTISMS The Sacrament is celebrated on Sunday at 1:15 PM. by appointment only. A Pre-Baptism Catechetical Session
is required for parents. Godparents (Sponsors) must be practicing Catholics and at least 14 years of age. A practicing non-Catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a Catholic Sponsor.
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends, family members and neighbors who are not Roman
Catholic Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other Christian denominations who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who may wish to experience the richness of our Catholic Faith and who desires to participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church, please contact Barbara Bunag at 732-257-7722.
MATRIMONY The Sacrament of Matrimony requires an extensive
period of preparation. Contact must be made with Parish Center one year in advance.
MINISTRY TO THE SICK The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the anointing of the sick is available to our parish sick and shut-ins upon request. Please inform the parish concerning the needs of the sick by calling the Parish
Office. If any member of the parish is hospitalized, please notify the Parish Office immediately so that a member of the Pastoral Staff may visit.
PLEASE PRAY FOR THE MEMBERS OF OUR PARISH FAMILY WHO ARE
SICK AS WELL AS THOSE MEMBERS WHO ARE SERVING IN
THE ARMED FORCES
Dear Brothers and Sisters, The public life and ministry of Jesus begins with his baptism at the Jordan River. John the Baptist proclaims Jesus to be the Lamb of God, who will take away the sins of the world. Immediately some of John’s disciples begin to follow Jesus and desire to know more about Him and His Mission. The first apostles, Andrew and his brother, Simon Peter are the first to heed the call of the Lord to come and follow Him. We, too, are called in this New Year of 2018 to come and follow the Lord Jesus. Our mission is to continue to serve Him in word and in deed. To proclaim the good news of the Gospel and to love God and our neighbor as Jesus taught us. How is the Lord Jesus calling you to serve Him through the parish family of Saint Bartholo-mew? What talents and gifts are you willing to share with your brothers and sisters in Christ? In Christ, Fr. Thomas

Used Car Dona on Request
One of our St. Vincent de Paul clients is in need of a used car. If you can help, please call Brian at 732-261-5957. Spirit of St. Vincent
“We cannot truly be disciples of Christ unless we, too,
wait to hear God’s call and respond by transforming
our lives, evidenced in the simple willingness to be
obedient to God’s will. This means more than keeping
the commandments, it means that our whole lives are
directed to wai ng and listening for God’s self-
revela on. Some mes this revela on comes through
others—perhaps in their cry for help. Some mes the
revela on comes through prayer in which we take
some me to listen to God. However, when the reve-
la on or call comes, if we respond, we will be trans-
formed. And Jesus will turn and ask us, ‘What are you
looking for?’ “ (Living Liturgy, p.42)
