Scotch-Weld™ Polyurethane Reactive (PUR) Easy Adhesive System
The hand-held 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ PUR Easy Adhesive Applicator and moisture-curing polyurethane adhesivesput powerful production capability in your assembly operation. This single system combines benefits typicalof two technologies.
PRODUCTION BENEFITS TYPICAL OF HOT MELT ADHESIVE TECHNOLOGY
• Fast initial set and handling strength in as few as 5 secondshelp eliminate or minimize fixturing, and speed assembly.
• One-component, moisture-curing eliminates metering, mixing and curing equipment. Helps simplify production aswell as save energy.
• 100% solids gives you a low-VOC adhesive system with nodrying equipment and no attack on plastics.
PERFORMANCE BENEFITS TYPICAL OF STRUCTURALADHESIVE TECHNOLOGY
• Greater than 7MPa of overlap shear strength withinminutes exceeds strength of conventional hot melt.
• Eliminates nails and other mechanical fasteners in manyapplications to help save finishing steps.
Disposable nozzles for maintenance ease. Wire stand allows applicator to be properly positioned upright when not in use.
Adhesive dispenses warm at 77°C and can remain in theapplicator at dispensing temperature for up to 40 hours.
Impact-resistant plastic construction for lightweight handling ease and the hard realitiesof the shop.
Electrically-heated pneumatic applicatordispenses with thesqueeze of a trigger.
Easy to load cartridge with plastic disposable nozzle allows easy, quick changeover.
Optional pre-heater keepsup to four adhesive cartridges ready to use.

ADHESIVE INFORMATION
Open TimeThis is the maximum time between theapplication of the adhesive and when theparts must be joined together. Thisinformation is based on 3,2 mm beadand non-metallic substrates at 20°C.
Set TimeAlso known as fixturing/clamping time. This is the minimum amount of timerequired for the adhesive to solidify andhold the parts together (able to support atensile load of 0,03MPa).
TerminologyOpen times and set times are based on aroom temperature environment. Hightemperatures will lengthen open timesand set times while lower environmentaltemperatures will shorten open timesand set times.
Shelf Life12 months is the maximum amount oftime an end-user has to use the productwhile stored within the conditionsrecommended by 3M.
Bond and seal stiles and rails in windowshutters.
Bond simulated-wood plastic trim to woodcabinet doors with an invisible bond line.
Assemble miter joints with a tough, flexiblebond for long life durability.
Assemble mirror components with hot melt adhesive speed and structural strength.
APPLICATION VERSATILITY AND EASE FOR WOOD,PLASTIC, AND MORE
• Versatile chemistry bonds a wide variety of substrates, includingwood, plastics, rubber, dissimilar materials, and plasticized vinyls.
• Trigger a fast, easy, and neat bead of adhesive from self-containedhand-held applicator at up to 5 kg per hour.
• Up to 2-1/2 minutes open time allows positioning of substrates.
• Thin, flexible bond lines help improve the fit, appearance anddurability of your product. When two pieces of oak are edge-spliced and stained (below), the bond line is hard to find.
In this test and many other applications, the substrate failsbefore the bond.

1 Not recommended for bonding metal, glass and ceramic to itself or each other due to low moisturetransmission of substrates.
2 Abrade uncoated aluminum. Not for use on uncoated aluminumsubjected to hot/humid conditions.
3 Rubbers vary in composition.Adhesion to specific rubber must be evaluated by user.
4 Adhesive may partially delaminatefrom polycarbonate at elevatedtemperatures.
For polypropylene/polyethylene:corona or plasma treatment mayimprove adhesion.
