March 2011

Danielle Mayorga, from Galena Park High School, completed the Nurse Aide

Certificate (CNA) this month.

The Certified Nurse Aide Certificate provides the skills, knowledge, and

abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities.

Danielle learned about resident rights, communication, safety, observation and

reporting. She learned to assist residents in maintaining basic comfort and

safety. She also learned about the theory, concepts, and skills involving

specialized materials, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws and interac-

tions within social systems associated with the nurse aide occupation.

Danielle is now prepared for entry-level employment in long-term care

facilities, doctor’s offices and hospitals. She is very excited to continue her

education in the Medical Field.

Congratulations to Danielle!
