Growing in Grace The Archangels and Holy Guardian Angels
Prayer for the Week O Jesus, bless and protect us. (Repeat often throughout the day)
“The rosary is the most excellent form of prayer and the most efficacious means of attaining eternal life. It is the remedy for all our evils, the root of all our blessings. There is no more excellent way of praying.” -Pope Leo XIII
Our Lady of the Rosary—October 7 How do you prepare to go into battle these days? How do you protect yourself? Your family? Do you make sure your doors are locked at night; that your child is buckled safely in their car seat before you drive away? Do you make sure your internet has the latest “spy ware” pro-tection? Before you make a big presentation at work, do you practice and make sure your slides are in order? Do you lay out the kid’s clothes, find their shoes, your keys, make lunches the night before?
Our Lady of the Rosary is shown holding her Child and a rosary. By praying a decade (one Our Father and ten Hail Marys) or a complete set of mysteries, Our Lady will be with you, beside you, and behind you, protecting you. She will lead you to her Son in times of need, for pro-tection, thanksgiving, and guidance. This is one way to ease our mind and soul, and prepare oneself for what might be coming next.
“How willingly will Mary hasten to our aid when we need her: with what love will she refresh us, and with what strength sustain us.” - Pope Leo XIII
Prayer for the Christian Family O JESUS, bless and protect us. O Mary, Mother of grace and of mercy, bless us, defend us against the evil spirit, lead us by the hand across this vale of tears, reconcile us with thy Son, and commend us to Him that we may be made worthy of his promises. O holy Joseph, reputed father of our SAVIOUR, guardian of his most blessed Mother, head of the Holy Family, intercede for us, and bless and protect our habitation at all times. St Michael, defend us against all the malice of hell. St Gabriel, make us ever to seek the holy will of GOD. St Raphael, preserve us from sickness and all danger of death. Ye holy angels, our guardians, keep us day and night in the way of salvation.
