Objective:
Ø To inculcate in the young minds the spirit of healthycompetitionwhileexhibitingtheirtalentsandpotentials.
Ø Tohelpthestudentsdevelopan integralpersonalityandbringoutthebestinthemsoastoensureabrightfutureforthem.

Providingplatformsforvarioussportsandliterarycompetitionsconducted annually, facilitating a healthymental, physical andpsychologicalexposure.

RULESANDREGULATIONS
These are essential to conduct the national events smoothly and successfully. TheExecutiveCommitteeoftheASISChasformulatedthefollowingrulesandregulationsbyincorporating the rules and regulations of various sports and games federations ofIndia.Theseshouldbestrictlyadheredtobythehostregionsofthenationaleventsandtheparticipants.
A.CategoriesThereshallbe�ivecategories:i)JuniorBoysii)JuniorGirlsiii)SeniorBoysiv)SeniorGirlsv)OpenCategory(Girls/Boys)
B.Eligibilitya)Age&Status:
(I)Juniors: Girlsandboysbornonorafter01/04/2001andare studentsuptotheICSElevel.
(ii)Seniors: Girlsandboysbornonorafter01/04/1999andare studentsintheISClevel.
(iii)OpenCategory:GirlsandBoysbornonorafter01/04/1999
b) Membership: Participants must be CISCE students from the memberschoolsofboththeRegionalandNationalAssociationsoftheASISC.
c)Documentsforveri�ication:(i) Juniors:Photoaf�ixedschoolIDcardwiththeDOBandtheclassofstudycerti�iedbytheschoolPrincipal.(ii) Seniors:Photoaf�ixedschoolIDcardwiththeDOBandtheclassofstudycerti�iedbytheschoolPrincipal.
C.GeneralRulesandGuidelines1. Participantsmustalwayshavethepersonalphotoidentitycard,withthe
DateofBirthandtheclassofstudydulymentionedonit.Thesamemustbepresentedforscrutinyasandwhenrequired.
2. TheEligibilityFormsoftheparticipantsdulycompletedmustbecerti�iedandforwardedbytheregionalsecretaries.
3. The�inalentriesforeacheventmustreachthehost7daysinadvance.4. Theparticipants/teamsmustreportanddepartasperthescheduleofthe
events.ThetraveldetailsmustbeinformedtotheHostwellinadvanceforbetterarrangements.AnyearlyarrivalsordelayeddepartureswillnotbetheresponsibilityoftheHost.
5. Parentsoftheparticipantsarenotallowedasescortingof�icials;neitherwill they be permitted to enter the venue except in the capacity of aspectator.

6. Onlythoseescortsapprovedbytheregionalsecretarieswillbepermittedtoactonbehalfoftheparticipants.
7. AnyotherescortsotherthanthemanagerandthecoachesapprovedbytheASISCwillnotbecateredtobytheHost.
8. The schedule and venues of the sports and literary events are theprerogativeofthenationalexecutivecommitteeoftheASISC.
9. Only theExecutiveCommitteeof theASISChas theauthority toamend,modify, change, annul or interpret the rules, regulations and guidelinesgiveninthis“HandBook”ofnationalevents.
D.GeneralrulesforSportsevents1. Sports eventswill be conductedasper the rules and regulationsof the
varioussportsbodiesinthecountry.Yet,incaseofnecessity,rulesmaybeadapted as per the local needs and situationswith the approval of theSportsCommitteeoftheASISC.
2. Theteammanagershouldbepresentinthemeetingofthemanagers.3. Fixtureswillbe�inalizedinthemanagers'meeting.4. Theteamswithmanagersandcoachesmustreporttotheof�icialsthirty
minutesbeforethescheduleofthematches.5. Theteamthatdoesnotreportontimewillbedisquali�iedafterwaitingfor
20minutesfromthescheduledtimeandtheopponentwillgeta'walk–over'
6. Themanagersandcoachesmustensurethedisciplineoftheirrespectiveteamsforthesmoothconductofthegames.
7. Eachteamshouldhaveitsownpropercolourasspeci�iedbytheASISCandthekitaspertherequirementofthegameinquestion.
8. Everymemberoftheteamwillbecompulsorilyveri�iedandtheeligibilityapprovedbytheof�icialspriortothecommencementofeachmatch.
9. TheASISC,inconsultationwiththeRegionalSecretaryandtheHost,shallconstituteanOrganizingCommitteeforeachevent.
10. TheRegionalSecretaryandtheHostshallformateamofwellquali�iedof�icialsfortheconductoftheeventsinquestion.Anyincompetentof�icial,iffound,shouldbereplacedforthwith.
11. ThereshallbeathreememberJuryofAppealconsistingofamemberoftheASISCnationalexecutiveandtwopersonsofknowledgeandexpertisefromtheplaceoftheevent.
12. TheJuryofAppealwilldealwithallmattersofdisputesandsettlethemamicablyinallfairnessandjustice.Itsdecisionshallbe�inalandbinding.
13. Allmattersofdisputemustbe�iledinwritingendorsedbythemanagerand the coach with a fee of Rs. 1000/- within 10 minutes of theannouncementoftheresultoftheeventinquestion.Iftheappealisupheld50% of the deposit will be refunded; if not, the total amount will be

forfeited.Participantsarenotpermittedtoappealtothejurydirectly.14. Itismandatoryforalltheparticipantsinproperdesignatedcolours.15. Themanagerorthecoachhastotakepartintheopeningandtheclosing
ceremoniesoftheAthleticMeetwiththeirrespectiveregional�lags.16. Participants, coaches, manager or even the whole team may be
disquali�iedordebarredforthefollowing:a) Grossindisciplineinandaroundthevenue.b) Wilfuldestructionofproperty.c) Misrepresentation.d) Delaytactics.e) Notreportingonstipulatedtime.f) Consumption of alcohol and other banned substances, smoking,
indecencyinwordsandbehaviouretc.g) Harassmentordisturbanceoffellowparticipants.

11) Incaseofa'tie'inchampionshipsthesamewillbebrokenbytakingintoaccountthenumberofGoldmedalsawarded.Ifitremainsinconclusive,thentheSilvermedalsawardedwillbeconsideredandsoon.
12) Participantsshouldbepreparedforanyeventualityduringtheeventssuchas injury,postponement,change inschedule,collisioninschedule,badweatheretc.
13) Noparticipantistobeabsentfromthevenueevenifhis/hereventisnotscheduled. Changes will be noti�ied only through the P/A system. Noprotestwillbeacceptedformissinganeventduetounforeseensituations.
14) Teamsmustadheretothedailytimetableformealsetc.withoutfail.15) Anyshopping,sightseeingetc.willbethesoleresponsibilityoftheteam
escortsonly.16) TeamEscorts: TeamManager –1 Onecoacheachforeachcategory. Anyotherescortsotherthantheabovementionedwillbecharged separatelyaspertheratesdecidedbytheOrganizingCommittee.17) Allthegameswillbeconductedona“leaguecumknockout”format.The rulesmaybeadjustedtofacilitatetheleagueroundsbutnotthesemi �inalsand�inals.
H.SportsEventsandtheirspeci�icrules.
ATHLETICS(forallcategories)
a) Only twoparticipants in eachevent can takepart froma region in each category. b) Oneparticipantcantakepartinamaximumofthreeeventsonly, excludingtheRelay. c) Tobeeligibleforathleticchampionshiponeshouldhaveparticipated bothintrackand�ieldevents. d) EventsfortheNationalAthleticMeet: (i)TrackeventsforBoys:100mtr,200mtr,400mtr,800mtr,1500mtr,100mtrHurdles,5kmwalk&4x100mtrRelay. b. TwoSinglesandoneDoubleswillbeconductedforeachcategory.c. Oneplayercannotplayboththegames,i.e.singlesanddoubles.d. Eachteamwillconsistofminimumthree&amaximumof�ivemembers.e. Everyparticipantmustobservethedresscodeandcolouraspertherespective

a. The game will be conducted according to the rules of the BFI (BasketballFederationof India). However, rulesmaybechangedaccording to the localneedsandsituations.
b. Totalteamwillconsistof12players.c. Theteammustcarryafullsizebasketballwhilereportingforthematch.d. Everyteammustfollowtheregionalcolourandthedresscode.
FOOTBALL(ForBoysofbothcategories)
a. ThegamewillbeconductedaspertherulesandregulationsofAIFF(AllIndiaFootballFederation).However,therulesmaybechangedaccordingtotheLocalneedsandsituations.
b. Totalteamwillconsistof16players,inclusiveofthegoalkeeper.c. Everyteammustfollowthedresscode&colouraspertherespectiveregions.
Teamjersey,shorts,shinguardswithsocksandstuddedbootsmakeupthekit.OnlyGoalkeeperispermittedtoweargloves.
d. Thedurationofthematchof�iciallyis90minutes;dividedintotwo45minuteshalveswithanintervalof5minutes. Ifrequired30minutesextratimewillbegiven;15minutesoftwohalves.
e. Eachteammustcarryafullsizefootballwhilereportingforthematch.f. TherewillbetwoteamsoneofJr.Boys&oneofSr.Boys.
HOCKEY(OpencategoryforBoys)
a. Thegamewillbe conductedasper the rulesandregulationsof IHF (IndianHockeyFederation).However,therulesmaybechangedaccordingtotheLocalneedsandsituations.
b. The duration of thematch of�icially lasts for 70minutes; two halves of 35minuteseachwithanintervalof5minutes.Extratimewillbegiven-15minutesoftwohalveseach,ifrequired.
c. Thetotalteamwillconsistof16players,inclusiveofthegoalkeeper.d. Everyteammustadheretothedresscodeandthekitproper.e. Thereshallbeonlyoneteamcomprisingofplayersfrombothcategories.
LAWNTENNIS(Forallcategories)
a. ThegamewillbeconductedaspertherulesandregulationsofAITF(AllIndiaTennisFederation). However,therulesmaybechangedaccordingtotheLocalneedsandsituations.

b. AllmatcheswillbeplayedinT–20format.c. EveryparticipantmustfollowthedresscodeaspertheRegionalcolour.d. Thetotalteamwillbeof16membersinclusiveofthewicketkeeper.e. Matchesmaybeplayedinday-nightschedule,ifrequired.f. OnlythematchballswillbesuppliedbytheHost.Personalkitforthematcheswill
bebroughtbytherespectiveteams/players.g. Intheleagueround,matcheswillbeplayedof12oversaside;Semi–�inalsand
�inalswillbeof20oversaside.
SWIMMING:(Forallcategories)
a. Onlytwoparticipantseachfromtheregionineachcategoryineachevent.b. Aparticipantcancompeteonlyin3eventsexcludingtheFreestylerelay.c. Tobeeligibleforindividualchampionshiponewillhavetoparticipatein
differentstrokes.d. Thecostumesofallcompetitorsandtrainersshallbeingoodmoraltaste.They
mustbenon–transparent.e. TheRefereehastheauthoritytoexcludeanycompetitor,whosecostumedoesnot
con�irmtothisstandard.f. There shall be a Technical Committee to oversee the smooth conduct of the
competition.g. DutiesoftheTechnicalCommittee:
i. To ensure the rules for swimming and implement them as per the SFI(SwimmingFederationofIndia).
ii. Toensurethespeci�icationsofthepoolasperthenationalstandard.iii. Toensurethattheparticipantshavesuitableswimmingsuit,chestnumbers
andthelanesforthecompetition.iv. Todealwithanydisputeorindisciplineduringtheevent.

LITERARYEVENTS
GENERALRULESANDREGULATIONS:
1. Allcompetitionswillbeheldintwocategories:-Juniors - StudentsuptoX(NoseparategroupsforboysSeniors - StudentsofXI&XII &girls)
2. Onlythewinnersofeachcategoryfromtherespectiveregionswillparticipateinthenationalcompetition.
3. Alltheparticipantsmustregisterthemselvesinthepreviousevening,oftheevent.4. Participantswillnotbeallowedtogooutofthepremisesontheirownforvisitingor
shoppingetc.5. Out-station participants must furnish their travel details to the organizer, so that
arrangementsfortransportationcanbemadeontime.6. Participantsmustbepresentforthemealsontime.7. Separatelodgingfacilitiesforboysandgirlswillbeprovided.8. ParticipationCerti�icateswillbeawardedtoallparticipants.9. WinnersoftheFirst,SecondandThirdpositionswillbeawardedMeritCerti�icatesand
Medals.10.Apanelofjudgeswillcompilealltheresults.Thedecisionofthejudgeswillbe�inaland
binding.
DEBATE
Speci�icRules:1. Participantsshouldavoidreadingfromapreviouslypreparedscript,anypaperoraid;
howevershortnotesarepermitted.2. Theformatofthedebatewillbeof“FrankAnthonyMemorialDebate”oftheCouncil.3. Eachregioncanpresentonlytwoparticipantseachineachcategory-onetospeak'for
themotion'andtheother,'against'themotion.4. Theorderofspeechwillbedecidedonthespotbydrawoflots.However,thespeakers
whoinitiateboththemotionswillgettwoextraminuteseachtowindupthedebateafterallthespeakershave�inishedtheirturn.
5. Eachspeakerwillgetfourminutestospeak.Attheendofthethirdminute,awarningbellwillberung. The�inalbellwillbesoundedattheendofthefourthminute. Thespeaker,exceedingthetimelimit,willbepenalized.
6. Allparticipantsmustbeinformalwearwithoutanyidenti�icationmarks.7. The speakers will address the chair only. Un-parliamentary language, personal
comments or observations on any religion, caste, community, political party orindividual are not allowed; the matter should be limited to the topic only. Suchviolationsmayleadtodisquali�ication.
8. Marksawardedbyindividualjudgeswillbeaddedupforeachspeaker;andthenforeachteam.

9. A lively rebuttal/refutation forapproximately twominuteswill followeachspeech
withinterjectionsfromtheparticipants.
10. Speakers will be adjudged for subject matter, diction, delivery, pronunciation,
language,presentationandrebuttal.
DECLAMATION
Speci�icRules:
1. Eachregioncanpresentoneparticipanteachpercategory.
2. Timeallottedisfourminutes.Markswillbedeductedforexceedingthetime.
3. Choiceofpassageislefttotheparticipantsbutnopassagefrom�ictionsordramasis
permitted.
4. Participantsshouldcommitthepassagetomemory.Theywillnotbepermittedtoread
outfromapreviouslypreparedscript,anypaperoraid.
5. Marksawardedbyindividualjudgeswillbeaddedupforeachspeaker.
6. The speaker will be adjudged on the basis ofDiction, pronunciation, gestures,
emotions,intonationandoverallpresentation.
7. Participantsshouldbeinformalwearwithoutanyidenti�icationmarks.
CREATIVEWRITING
Speci�icRules:
1. Eachregioncanpresentoneparticipanteachpercategory.
2. Onlythewritingpaperwillbeprovidedbythehost.
3. Essays/stories/poemsetcshouldbewrittenneatlyononesideofthepaper,leaving
suf�icientmargin.
4. Thecreativewritingshouldnotexceedmorethan500words.
5. Theparticipantswillbegivenachoiceoftopicsonthespot.
6. Theinitialhalfhourwillbeforpreparation;participantsarenottowriteduringthis
planningsession.
