Title of Project: 3D ATOMIC MODEL
Objectives:
a. describe the structure atom of an element.
b. identify the number of subatomic particles of atom in an element.
c. construct a model of an atom, of assigned element following Bhor’s atomic model
Task: Create a 3-D model of an atom, of assigned element following the Bhor Model Rules.
1. It will include the correct number of protons and neutrons in nucleus and correct energy levels
with correct number of electrons. 2. Students may use materials that they want as long it is safe and within reason! There is no need to buy materials. Just use things that can find around the house.
3. The model should include an attached information tag (properly labelled) that clearly identifies the Name of an element and its atomic symbol, atomic mass with subatomic particles.

MODEL
ACCURACY
Atom is accurate and
included all required
information.
(The number of sub-
atomic particles of an
element are correct)
Atom is accurate but lacks
some information. (There
is an error in the number
of sub-atomic particles)
Atom is not accurate in
terms of number of sub-
atomic particles.
MODEL
CREATIVITY
Project is unique and does
not appear to look like the
others. It is very neatly
crafted and organized.
The model shows
creativity that is exciting
and fresh.
Project is nice, but it is
unique. It has many
similar components as
other presentation.
The model shows lacks on
creativity and organization
Project appears forced, It
appears to have many parts
that are strange and do not
serve any purpose.
The model shows Serious
lack of creativity or
organization
DESIGN AND
MATERIALS
Atom model is neat and
well designed. Choice of
materials is well suited for
materials
Atom model has design
flaws. Choice of materials
is appropriate for model.
Atom model has many
design flaws. Choice of
materials does not suit
model.
LABELING
ACCURACY
Labelled correctly: the
name of the element,
chemical symbol, atomic
number, and atomic mass.
The note card was present
with some labelled
information, but not all.
Parts that were missing
may have included: : the
name of the element,
chemical symbol, atomic
number, and atomic mass.
There was no note card to
accompany the 3D model
at all.
ECONOMY All materials use are very
economical.
