Summer Into Fall: Transition Outfits It’s almost fall! With the cooler mornings on their way, grabbing a lightweight sweater before heading out the door will soon become a necessity. It will be a welcome change to wear our fuzzy sweaters again!
It’s almost sweater season...Bring it on!
Use these 10 items to s-t-r-e-t-c-h your wardrobe from summer into the fall: __Dark colored linen (black, chocolate brown, dark green) worn through September __White v-neck tees and white button-down shirts (both are year-round layering pieces)
__Dark cropped-ankle pants
__¾ Sleeve cotton tees/sweaters
__Denim jackets (blue jean and colored twill)
__Classic blazer
__A-line denim skirt
__Wrap dresses (like a “Little Basic Dress” in solid dark-colored fabrics)
__Cardigan sweaters (short, 3/4, long-sleeved) and vests
__Scarves (light-weight fabrics) to wrap stylishly around your neck to stay warm
As we move into September, start wearing your autumn colors to replace the summery brights (you’ve just put away). Also, buy (if needed) layering tees and short-sleeved cardigans in rich fall hues, like clear purple, gray, mustard yellow, emerald green and peacock blue. This will help you look stylish during these in-between months (before the weather really changes).
During this in-between weather, wear a stylish vest...Adding a long necklace will create another vertical line to your upper body!

When the day warms up; simply remove the cardigan. With the addition of a long pendant necklace and boots...you’ll still look fab
sans cardigan!
A flyaway cardigan is the perfect layer piece for a cool morning on-the-go...

WHAT TO WEAR NOW:
LAYERS! This time of year it’s all about LAYERS! Light layers allow you to adjust to the changing temperatures. Add them when it’s cool, and remove them when it warms up...
How about layering with two dresses? Why not.
When the weather dipped down that’s just what I did in this photo below...
Layer an open-weave sweater gives you a stylish-layered look...(don’t forget to change out your handbag to a rich warm color as well!)
WHAT TO WEAR NOW:
Yes, you can wear cropped ankle pants into the fall...
Dixon HighRise Stretch Crepe Jogger Pants
Continue to wear your cropped pants (mid-weight fabrics) if they are in darker colors. They are perfect for extending into fall.
Even though these outfits below are with pumps and flats...you will want to add BOOTS to these outfits in the fall!
WHAT TO WEAR NOW:
Play dress up. Wear a pretty blouse! The days of sweltering heat are almost over. You can easily “gussy” without melting as the weather mellows. A delicate blouse will make you look--and feel pretty-plus it’s trendy too!
WHAT TO WEAR NOW:
Wear texture! Wear a tweed skirt or slacks and start enjoying fall in mid-September. Add a bright top and your look is simply chic and fabulous.
WHAT TO WEAR NOW:
Patterned flats. What could better than a cute pair of flats? Well, flats with a prints or pattern are even better!
Wear your flats this fall with bootcut jeans, straight-leg/skinnys and tailored skirts...
Textured flats adds style to any outfit-yet they are still neutral...

WHAT TO WEAR NOW:
Printed Scarves! You’ve already got a couple of “safe” solid-colored scarves...live a little and go bold with a graphic printed scarf or something fun and floral!
Feeling a bit chilly? By adding just a scarf around your neck, you’ll stay warm without overheating. Of course on cooler days wearing a classic blazer, tee and jeans gets dressed up with your scarf addition!
Fall scarves are outfit “completer” pieces...
Patricia Nash Scarf
WHAT TO WEAR NOW:
Don’t give booties the “boot” ! If you’ve got black booties (or brown, gray, tan ones for that matter) ...wear ‘em! Booties remain a stylish choice for fall footwear.
Booties work with best with straight/skinny jeans/slacks...however, match your tights to your color of bootie and then rock ‘em with dresses and skirts as well!
Lucky Brand Basel Side Zip Booties-3 colors
This fall, layer dark gray tights and tan socks with your booties...
For the best look...
Wear the same color tights as your booties when you are wearing dresses and skirts...
Skirt too short? You can get away with a skirt that’s a bit short with the addition of tights!
WHAT TO WEAR NOW:
One bold accessory. “Go big, or go home”! I guess that sounds a tad bit intimidating and angry, lol! But, really...what’s the point of an accessory if it is small and insignificant?
Have fun and bring STYLE to your fall outfits by completing them with chic and bold accessories!!!
Kennedy Row Tortoise Collar Necklace
