pERMANENT
professionals working permanently within the HR Sector have a high appetite for relocation, with 32.4% of
permanent professionals "actively looking to relocate" and 47.1% "likely" to relocate. No respondents would
"never" consider relocating for a permanent role.
With 40.6% of the vote, the most popular region for HR professionals to relocate to is Europe, followed by North
America (18.8%) and Asia pacific (15.6%). 12.5% of respondents stated that they would consider relocating
"anywhere". The overall most popular country to relocate to however is the USA.
The main driver for relocation is career progression (43.8%), followed by work/ life balance and to experience
another culture or location, and the most popular length of time to relocate for is 3-5 years (59.4%).
HR professionals would expect a high salary change in order to relocate, with 75.0% of respondents requiring a
11%+ salary increase in order to relocate. Only 3.1% would be willing to take a reduction in order to relocate
and 12.5% would relocate for no change in salary.
When asked whether they would consider relocating as a contractor, 65.6% of permanent staff answered yes, of
which around half of the respondents would do so to experience another culture of location.

KEY FACTS
- Almost half of HR professionals working in
permanent positions are "likely" to relocate for
a permanent position (47.1%). 32.4% are
"actively looking to relocate".
- 40.6% of HR's would ideally relocate to
Europe.
- The majority chose the US as the country they
would most likely consider relocating to.
- HR professionals' most likely motive to
relocate is career progression (43.8%),followed
by to experience another culture or location,
and work/ life balance.
- The majority of HR professionals working in
permanent positions, would ideally relocate
for 3-5 years (59.4%), followed by as long as
possible (28.1%).
- 40.6% of HR professionals would require a
21%+ salary increase in order to relocate,
and 34.4% would require a 11-20% salary
increase.
- 65.6% of HR professionals said would
consider relocating on a contractual basis.
- Of those permanent HR professionals who
would relocate on a contracyual basis, around
half would so to experience another culture
or location.
CONTRACT pROFESSIONALS
- The majority of HR contractors are
“likely” to relocate on a contractual basis
(58.3%) and only 8.3% are “actively
looking to relocate”.
- The two regions that HR professionals
would most likely consider relocating to
on a contractual basis are North America
and Europe.
- Specifically, the most popular country for
HR contractors to relocate to is the UK.
- HR contractors would most likely relocate
to experience another culture or
location.
- 40.0% of HR’s said they would ideally
relocate for 3-5 years as a contractor.
- The majority of HR contractors would
expect or require a 11-20% salary
increase in order to relocate, however,
20% would be willing to take a reduction.
- 81.8% of HR contractors would consider
relocating for a permanent role.
- The most likely motive for a HR contractor
to relocate for a permanent role is to
experience another culture or location,
followed by work/ life balance and job
continuity.
