Radio Advert Script

In today‟s society many people are living in the fast lane. There‟s

faster internet; faster communication and faster food. People in the

UK are Europe's biggest fast food consumers. In 2007 figures showed

that UK consumers spent £82 per head just in fast food restaurants

and burger chains – that doesn‟t even take into account other types of

fast food order such as Chinese, Indian or Pizza, so what makes fast

food so popular?

(Vox Pops saying why they think fast food is popular)

In the world, there are more than 500,000 fast food places; this

includes restaurants such as Subway, McDonalds, Dominos, Burger

King, KFC. Join us Tuesday at 8pm, to find out more about the fast

food society that we live in. „Can I Take Your Order Please?‟, on

Channel 4, have it their way.

BBC Radio 1

- BBC Radio 1 is a British radio station which broadcasts in the UK

and internationally, specialising in current popular music and chart

hits throughout the day.

- The listeners usually range from the ages 15-29 although the

average age which was recorded in 2008 was 33

- Radio 1 provides alternative genres after 7:00 pm, including

electronic dance, hip hop, rock or interviews.

- We chose to put our advert on this radio station because our target

audience is 16-55 so this take up a big part of the audience.

Capital FM

- Capital is a radio network of nine independent contemporary hit

radio stations in the United Kingdom which are owned and operated

by Global Radio, launching on 3 January 2011. Capital was

previously known as Mix, One, Galaxy and Hit Music at various

times.

- The stations serve an audience of 7.1 million listeners and target a

core audience in the 15-34 age group.

- We chose for our radio advert to be heard on Capital FM because

our target audience fits in with what their audience range is. Also

after asking students which radio station they think it should be put

on Capital FM was a very popular choice.

Key 103

- Key 103 is an Independent Local Radio station broadcasting to the

city of Manchester and the north west of England. Its output is

principally contemporary pop and dance music.

- Key 103 is the market-leading commercial radio station broadcasting

to Greater Manchester to a weekly audience of 538,000 with a

staggering 3.9 million listening hours. Key 103 recently overtook

Radio 2 to become the overall market leader for 25-44 females.

- We thought that Key 103 would be a good radio station to play our

advert on because it is a popular station and is listened to by people

within our target audience range.

XFM

- XFM is a brand of two commercial radio stations focused on

alternative music, primarily indie pop, and owned by Global Radio.

- “From game-changing groups such as Oasis, Blur and The Stone

Roses to new talent such as Peace, Jake Bugg and Foals, whatever

way you tune into XFM you're guaranteed to hear the very best

rock, indie and alternative music spanning both time and genre.”

- This radio station would be ideal for our advert to be played on

because these are the type of people we want to attract. We would

most likely play the advert at a time close to when the actual

documentary is being played or when people are on their journey

home from work.
