A new small residential enclave, to be built on the Charleston peninsula, will overlook Alberta Long Lake and the Ashley River. Halsey Park was conceived by Bennett Hofford Construction, a local building and development compa-ny, to create something historically inspired, yet totally unique for Charleston and perfectly suited for 21st century liv-ing. Initially, 6 classically designed, fee simple rowhouses will be built using state-of-the-art Structurally Insulated Panel construction that provides hurricane strenth, well beyond code; plus, they are termite resistant, extremely energy efficient and environmentally green. There will also be 6 build-to-suit lots offered as well. These new residences will overlook a central garden-park designed by Sheila Wertimer with gas-lit paths, flowers, trees and landscape features
to be enjoyed from dual level rear porches or by foot.Halsey Park

DRSIR Donates to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in Support of One of Their Agents
26
Charleston, SC (December 18, 2013) – Daniel Ravenel Sotheby’s International Realty, a local luxury real estate firm, recently donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCan). The effort was spear-headed by Beth McCrabb and Daniel Ravenel, owner and Broker-in-Charge, generously offered to match any amount raised from employees and agents within the office. The total raised was $775, and with the match the total donation amounted to $1,550.
PanCan was founded in 1999 as a small, non-profit, patient-based advocacy organization. PanCan offers a comprehensive range of services, from advocacy and community outreach, to funding research with a goal of creating hope and support for the pancreatic cancer community.
Beth McCrabb, an experienced agent at Daniel Ravenel Sotheby’s International Realty has participated in 5k’s, called “Purple Strides,” from Savannah to Cincinnati, in support of PanCan. Most recently, she walked in November in Savannah, Georgia to help advance research and support patients and families affected by pancreatic cancer. She walks in memory of her father, Arnold Hampton, and her uncle, Earl Hampton, who both bravely fought pancreatic cancer. “We walked for the memories, love, and hope they provided our family,” says McCrabb.
The combined donation to PanCan from McCrabb’s efforts was $2,315. That contribution included her personal fundraising, the Daniel Ravenel Sotheby’s International Realty office, and Ravenel’s match. This contribution made McCrabb’s team the third highest this year for Savannah Purple Stride and also made McCrabb the top individual fundraiser.
According to PanCan, over 45,000 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year and the five-year survival rate is 6%. Since 2003, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network has awarded 94 research grants totaling nearly $18 million dedicated to patient services, treatments, and a cure for pancreatic can-cer. For more information about the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, please visit PanCan.org.
Daniel Ravenel Sotheby’s International Realty has been serving the Lowcountry for over 30 years, having closed well over $1.5 billion in real estate sales during this time.
