BEING BROWN!
There’s so much excitement in dressing up ‘a colour’. Brown is beautiful! Tree trunks, bears, and bread
………can you think of any others?
Preprimary honors this earth color by representing it in all its forms. Masks to be monkeys and clothes in shades of this hue……. Just so delightful and down to
earth!

A SESSION ON PEER PRESSURE
O n Wednesday 30 January 2015, the
students of Grades 6 to 10 were
ushered to the secondary library for a
session organized by MED MONDIAL,
our in-house medical service. An
interactive session and a power point
presentation on „Peer Pressure’ were
organized by Ms. Prachita Dixit, a
renowned child psychologist. Ms. Dixit
ensured that she will interact with the
students by staging various role plays to
illustrate what is peer pressure. She
embellished the fact that the word
pressure has to come to have negative
concoctions, whereas in reality pressure
can indeed be a motivating factor to better us. When it came to dealing with negative peer pressure, she
advised us to follow certain ethics and ideals, whilst ensuring that we were able to say a “no” confidently!
She also discussed with how to combat peer pressure by giving alternative options to the ones being forced
upon us. We were all „reflective‟ and by the end of her presentation, we understood what it truly meant to
be „caring‟. We thank Ms. Dixit for sharing her knowledge with us!

We got an opportunity to interact with
the MED MONDIAL team to know
more about peer pressure. How an
individual should tackle peer pressure
was what I learned and I confidently
make use of it in times of need. I hope
to attend many more sessions like
this. I am among the lucky ones to get
tips on how to even tackle bullying!
Thank you MED MONDIAL team
and of course my school!

The session we had was helpful because peer pressure is a very common problem amongst teenagers and
many have no idea how to tackle it. What I understood from the session was, “No matter what anyone says,
I should be able to think rationally”. I was able to identify that at the end of the day it is “ME” who that
matters. The role plays we did gave me a very clear idea of how to tackle complex situations. As I reflected
upon this session, I can say at any given situation, it is important to be cool and composed but it is also
important to be right.

IB LEARNER PROFILE
PRESENTED BY STUDENTS OF GRADE 10
A n assembly is when the school community, or a part of it, meets together to share aspects of life
that are of worth. It acts as a medium for communicating matters of significance from one
generation to another. Its potential to nurture a positive school ethos that stresses care for the self,
others and the pursuit of all forms of excellence should not be underestimated. It powerfully nurtures
the development of intrapersonal intelligence.
The morning assembly is one of the sessions in RBK International Academy, where the entire
members, be the students or teachers or the staffs come together and make the entire day a good one
by sharing important events, encouraging and motivating students for their achievements in their
school life. Morning assemblies in the schools are kept not only to get the entire crowd of the school
together but it is also a feature of discipline.
On 28th January 2015, students of grade 10 highlighted the importance and need of the IB learner
profile. Students focused on all the 10 IB learner profiles, explained them with short and crisp daily
life examples. They elaborated on the fact that these IB learner profiles stay with students
throughout life and it helps them to outgrow in their day to day activities.
THE 10 IB LEARNER PROFILES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Thinker, Caring, Inquirer, Reflective, Open-Minded, Balanced, Principled, Knowledgeable,
