• Opportunities:– Innovative educational tool in Irish Adult Education – potential for links with local
VET centres branching out into e-learning and distance learning– Quality Guidelines to be developed can be beneficial to Adult Education and Open
Education policy-makers– Expertise and experience of the consortium should give the Database some
credability and reputation
• Challenges – We don‘t really know what the Database looks like so far so it is hard to judge
how this will be received by our target group;– A wide variety of OERs available on the Database but subject areas may be too
varied for practical use with adult classes in Meath – if we refined the categories/subject/type of OER it might be more manageable?
– The Questionnaire if quite long and complicated – might be difficult to get experts to complete this step free of charge and outside of their working committements
Opportunities and Challenges concerning the use of the Database
