Pizza after Prayer—Tonight

Following our prayer service, we will have pizza in Fellowship Hall so that we can continue our fellowship over a simple dinner together.

Wednesday Activities resume January 9

• Family Night Dinner — We offer a catered meal for families each Wednesday evening, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., $5 per person, $20 per family. Sign-up in the narthex.

• Children’s Music Ministry — January is a great time to join our Children's Music Ministry! Children and Youth (age 4 - 8th grade+) meet on Wednesdays for choir and handbells. Come this Wednesday, January 9th at 6:00 p.m. to check it out. • Chancel Choir Invites New Singers —Choir is a great way to grow as a worshiping saint, and the adult Chancel Choir is hoping a few new singers will join them this season, high school-age and older, all voice parts. They particularly need tenors and basses. Don’t let mini-mal (or long ago!) singing experiences dissuade you from considering—we all seek to im-prove our musical worship of the Lord, and choir is a wonderful environment to do this. Re-hearsals are on Wednesday nights from 7-8:30 p.m., beginning this January 9th as we start preparing music by Bach, Beethoven, Handel, and others as well as Mendelssohn’s Lauda Si-on for our Palm Sunday concert. • Women’s Bible Studies - If you’d like to start the new year by joining one of Proclamation’s women’s bible studies, read on! The Wednesday morning group meets every week from 9:15 to 11:00 am. The Wednesday evening group meets the 1st, 2nd & 4th week. We are studying The Covenantal Life (1st week of the month) and The Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis (other weeks). Even if you have not been able to join us this fall we would welcome you jump in to one or both of these rich studies of Gods's Word, time in fellowship and prayer. • Refinery—For middle school and high school students. Refinery exists to encourage middle school and high school students in glorifying Christ, loving others, and serving our world. Location: Springton Lake Presbyterian Church—Fellowship Hall 3090 S. Newtown Street Road, Newtown Square When someone we know is grieving, we want to help. Should we speak or should we stay silent, should we visit or should we send flowers? But what if the grieving person is you? How can we connect with our feelings without being overwhelmed? Together we can share our grief, listen, and learn from each other and experienced counselors that the time that we grieve is not wasted, but a necessary part of life. Biblical and practical insight on Redeeming Grief from Cris Clark and Dari Sweeton, Professional Christian Counselors. A focused discussion and helpful materials will be provided. The Eagles—Ministry for Older Adults—Friday, January 18, 10:00 a.m.

All older adults (55+) are invited to gather on Friday, January 18, 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. for a time of fellowship, encouragement and fun! Pastor Ken will speak on Jesus’ 3rd miracle from the Gos-pel of John - the Healing at the Pool of Bethesda. She wrote, How have you been? I have been missing you a lot! May you feel all the love and joy I have for RUF-I throughout this holiday season and all year round. Spiritual Depression

A Christian's visible joy, even in suffering, is perhaps the most potent element of a winsome wit-ness. Even so, God anticipates our spiritual depression, which is common and ancient; it is a nec-essary and planned part of our sanctification, and God provides a model for us to talk to him about it. This course explores a series of sermons by Martyn Lloyd-Jones that look at circumstanc-es that lead to spiritual depression and God's model for addressing it. The class will be taught by various teachers and meet in Room 243/245.

Book of Nehemiah

According to God's promise and purpose in Christ, a remnant of God's people returns to Jerusa-lem after seventy years of exile (605 to 538 BC). Under Ezra, the people of God rebuild the temple; now the walls of Jerusalem are needing repair. God's blessing upon this fledgling holy communi-ty is unmistakable, yet adversities abound from within and without. How will God's leaders and people respond? How might you? Join us and be encouraged, challenged, and strengthened by God's promise and purpose for them and for you in Christ. The class will be taught by various teachers and meet in Room 240.

College class: What’s on your mind?

College years are challenging. You are confronted with issues and pressures you’ve never had to face – professors hostile to Christianity, new temptations, decisions about your major, big ques-tions about life, doubts about the Christian faith – and navigating these waters can be tricky. Join us as we explore questions that may be lurking in your hearts. The class will be taught by Rev. Ken Wendland and meet in Room 017 (Lower Level).

Visiting with Us Today?

We are always happy to have you with us and to enjoy your fellowship. If you have questions, please feel free to speak with one of our pastors or one of our elders. To help us learn how we might serve you, please fill out the Visitor Card in the pew back and drop it in the offering basket or leave it at the Wel-come Desk.

Families with Young Children Children are a gift to the Church and are warmly welcome at Proclamation. Before worship on Sundays, children of all ages are invited to attend graded Sunday School classes from 9:30-10:30 a.m. They may also recite their suggested memory verses, catechism questions, and hymns at 9:20 before classes begin. Classroom assignments are posted in the Education Wing. Nursery is available during the Sunday School hour for infants and toddlers.

We welcome even the littlest ones in our worship services. We know children’s needs vary by family and age, so we offer nursery during morning worship for children up to 2 years old. We have a “nursing/cry room” at the rear of the sanctuary for parents who need to attend to active infants, and we have screens showing the service in the slate hallway. While we encourage children to attend all of wor-ship, we also offer the opportunity for children ages 4-7 years old to be dismissed mid-service for a chil-dren’s worship time led by our Christian Education Director, Dave Moneymaker.

Seating in the Sanctuary In an effort to be as hospitable as possible, we are encouraging people to move forward in the pews, since there are rows in the front of the sanctuary that don’t typically get used. We would also specifical-ly ask that regular attenders would leave the last pew open, so that visitors and those with special needs have access to seating near the doors. Thank you for your help in making Proclamation a warm place to visit.

Pink Prayer Request Forms Proclamation's staff and elders are happy to lift your concerns and praises to the Lord in their pray-ers. Please note that the pink prayer request forms have been moved from the pew backs to the narthex table. You can place your completed form in the box on the table, place it in the offering plate or hand it to one of our deacons. You are also welcome to contact Annette in the church office by phone or e-mail

and she will convey your message to the staff and elders.

Recordings Audio CD or DVD recordings of today’s sermon and adult Sunday School classes are available for a small donation ($3/$5). You may order at the media table located in the Resource Room (across from the Parlor) immediately following the 11 am service, and pick up two weeks later (usually). If you desire a recording from a prior week, use the order forms that are available on the table.
