PRESIDENT’S CORNER It's a truism that time flies when you're having fun. Perhaps that's why the months of Summer 2012 have just whizzed by. September's arrival reminds us that another ski season is just around the corner! It's time for our monthly membership

meetings to resume, time to check out the condition of our gear (local ski swap dates

are posted in this issue) and time to start getting ourselves into shape for a fun, accident-free season on the slopes

(we're planning to offer skier condition-ing classes again this fall). It's also time to

sign up for one or more of our ski trips, and it will soon be time to purchase your discounted Roundtop passes or night club cards. And this is just the beginning! I hope you've had a chance by now to check out SSC's Meetup page: www.meetup.com/Susquehanna-Ski-Snowboard-Club/. Sign up now (there's no cost to join) and start using SSC Meetup to stay in touch with your friends' plans, and by the time ski season starts, it should be a handy tool to plan get-togethers on the slopes. Many thanks to the folks who stepped forward to run weekend trips for SSC this coming season. We will start shar-ing details of these trips in coming issues of Chairlift Chatter, at our membership meetings, and of course on our website. Congratulations, Sue Leonard, for being recognized re-cently by the area chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as their 2012 Ski4Life Hero. Sue recruited over 50 volunteers for the 2012 Ski4Life event and organized fund-raising efforts by SSC teams and her own family's team. The honors are well-deserved, Sue. Thank you for all you do! Last but not least, we still have an opening for a market-ing/publicity chair. If you'd like to help the Board get the word out to the public about our club, please contact me at 717-507-7196 or [email protected].
