Injection MouldingProtomould have over 40 years experience in the

field of thermoplastic injection moulding. Our range

of mould machines and associated ancillaries is one

of the most well specified in the UK. With an average

machine age of less than 4 years and the majority

of machines fitted with 5 axis CNC robots we have

a significant manufacturing advantage over the

majority of UK moulders.

We process a wide variety of polymers from volume

products like polystyrenes through to advanced

engineering grades such as PEEK and PEI. Robot arm loading

We can assist in both initial design work as well as concept refinement.

Unlike conventional design houses our service is derived from

manufacturing best practice rather than blue-sky thinking our designs

satisfy the requirements of our customers intent whilst conforming

to the practicalities of manufacturability!

Functional Prototype ServiceOne of the main drawbacks of rapid prototypes is that they rarely reflect

the actual performance of real products. Unlike SLS/SLA prototypes our

service uses machined cast plastics (offering about 80% of the properties

of a moulded component) and in the case of resin and aluminium tooling

the actual polymer intended for the final product.

We are able to offer machined prototypes in 7-10 days and injection moulded

parts from resin tooling in 14-21 days.

Tool ManufactureWhether it is low volume or pre-production tooling or even high speed, multi-cavity stack tools,

Protomould are able to source and specify the most appropriate mould tools for our customers.

We have strong links to world-class toolmakers in Europe and an extensive supply network for

toolmaking in the Far East.
