From the Auxiliary President
Hello Auxiliary Members:
Hope all had a nice Christmas and safely welcomed in 2019.
Lynn Krause President Zeta Anderson Auxiliary 402-553-7562
From the Commander Greetings:
This year has been very exciting for the Post. There
has been a lot of activity, and things in general are
looking great. Glad to see a lot of old faces coming
back to their Post! Without the staff and all the dedi-
cated worker bees, this would not be taking place.
And we are looking forward to an even better 2019.
The Post newsletter will be in the mail this January.
If you have not done so yet, please update your mail-
ing address, so you can receive it by mail or email if
you prefer. We are trying to keep the cost as low as
possible, so please let us know how to keep you in-
formed as to what is happening at your Post.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a very
Happy New Year.
Respect
Mike Rosso

Somebody at the VA Needs to be Fired!
The suicide rate among veterans is twice that of the general population – 20 vets a day take their own lives.
The Department of Veterans Affairs was allocated $6 million to address the problem through outreach and prevention. How much did it spend in 2018? Less than 1 percent, $57,000.
These statistics are not only heartbreaking; they are downright inexcusable.
Why? Because of “bureaucratic confusion” according to a new report by the General Accounting Office.
According to the VA, “Preventing Veterans suicide is a top priority for VA.”
But the failure to devote more resources to preventing suicides proved disturbing, especially considering the VA had proclaimed suicide prevention to be such a priority.
SOURCE: Florida Representative, Vern Buchanan (R), and Mon-tana Senator, Jon Tester (D).

burger Night schedule
will be ready for pick-
up in the kitchen area. CHAPLAIN’S MESSAGE
BACK to WORK!
The 2017 Santa Rosa, California fire burned many houses to the
ground. When a reporter asked a 10 year-old boy about how he
felt about losing his home, the boy replied that he didn’t lose
his home, he “just needed to put his home into a house.”
Art Linkletter said that not only do kids say the darndest
things, but also “Things turn out best for the people who make
the best of the way things turn out.”
Romans 1:16-17
A short message for all concerned: What does it take to drum-up
new members to our VFW Post 2503?
A lonely man purchased a myna bird for conversation. He could
not get it to talk. So he returned to the pet store to get sugges-
tions to make the myna bird talk. The pet store owner suggested
a swing or a ladder for the bird’s cage. But the myna bird still
did not talk.
After several days, the myna bird died, but just a moment before
expiration, it asked the lonely man, “Pet store have any food?”
Have a GREAT New Year!
With Love,
Rev Rod

MINDBENDER This is the story of EVERYBODY, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, and NOBODY:
There was an important job to be done, and EVERYBODY was asked to do it. ANY-
BODY could have done it, but NOBODY did it. SOMEBODY got angry about that
because it was EVERYBODY’S job. EVERYBODY thought ANYBODY could do it,
but NOBODY realized that EVERYBODY wouldn’t do it. Consequently, it wound up that NOBODY told ANYBODY, so EVERYBODY blamed SOMEBODY.
